Right Person, Wrong Time

Chapter 663

Hayden's face was full of joy when Colton carried him out. He excitedly waved his short arms, wriggled out of Colton's arms, and dashed toward Nicole.

"Mommy, why haven't you come to visit me for such a long time?! I thought you didn't want me anymore." He buried his head in her arms and whined.

She ruffled his hair gently. She had forbidden Colton from telling him what had happened in the past few days. Therefore, she had to face the music by blurting, "When you're at Daddy's place, you should have already heard about the hit-and-run incident."

When Hayden heard this, his expression instantly became serious. Then, he nodded thoughtfully and piped up, "Yes, I've heard about that, but I don't think Grandma would do such a horrible thing."

He could tell that Nicole was sad, so he quickly continued to comfort her. "Mommy, they say that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. You're such a nice person, so Grandma must be an excellent person too."

She felt warmth surging inside her at his reassurances. She curled her lips into a smile and murmured gently, "I understand, but may I ask for your help? There's something I need you to find out."

"Of course!" He nodded, his eyes filled with determination.

Colton stood aside quietly as he regarded the happy mother and son.

Finally, Nicole decided to take Hayden home, and Colton sent them back. When they got to the villa, he even insisted on staying until Hayden managed to dig up new information or clues. How shameless!

Nevertheless, Hayden wasn't one to shy away from showing off his talents as he grabbed the laptop and began his investigation.

This was the first time Colton had a front-row seat to watch Hayden's hacking skills. Suffice to say, he was suitably impressed by his son's intelligence and superb skills.

The sound of the keyboard tapping echoed across the house as Hayden's chubby fingers nimbly danced across the keyboard. As he typed, a string of data soon appeared on the screen.

Colton had dabbled in this aspect, so he took this opportunity to truly observe his son. Alas, when he narrowed his eyes to focus on the screen, he found that Hayden was the hacker who stole 300 million from his account the other day!

He raised his eyebrows and couldn't help commenting in dismay, "Was it you who stole 300 million from me?"

Hayden was fully immersed in the screen and was startled when he suddenly heard Colton's deep voice, but he quickly calmed down and beamed confidently. "Yeah, so what? Mommy has raised me for so many years, so what's wrong with asking you for some child support?!"

It was hard to refute his cheeky yet logical remarks.

Regardless, Hayden was smart enough as he did this behind Nicole's back. Thus, it was only when they started discussing the matter did she learn that Hayden had stolen 300 million from Colton. Frankly speaking, she did not need that money.
