Chapter 685

Gabriel was left completely shocked. If he didn't know his mother's character well, he would've thought Nicole was his mother's illegitimate daughter after seeing much resemblance between them.

Perhaps due to the resemblance, Gabriel couldn't help feeling concerned about Nicole's abnormal condition. "You seem like you've been drugged. I have some antidotes from the army. Would you like to try it?" he offered.

His father held a high position with strong authority, so he was constantly guarding against people with bad intentions who might pull him down by indecent means. Therefore, the former would always prepare antidotes for his son to carry around.

Nicole looked at the man in front of her suspiciously. Why was he being courteous all of a sudden? She knew that he was likely a bad person. Otherwise, why would he treat her so well? What was his intention?

Gabriel could tell how skeptical Nicole was, so he fished out the medicine and said, "I'm not a bad person."

Nicole chuckled and raised her head to look at him. "A bad guy wouldn't admit he's bad, would he?"

Gabriel was about to defend himself when she suddenly took the medicine and popped it into her mouth. "But you don't look like a bad person to me. I'll believe you for now."

Nicole swallowed the pill dryly. Not sure if it was a psychological effect, but after swallowing the pill, she felt that the heat in her body dissipated a lot. She then reached out to wipe off her sweat. Seeing how Gabriel was still standing in the same spot, she asked curiously, "Why are you here?"

With a faint smile on his face, Gabriel replied simply, "This is my room."

Hearing that, Nicole was instantly embarrassed. She was the one who came to his room in a panic. Ironically, she was the one who questioned his existence instead. "Ahem, sorry. I was feeling too warm, and when I saw the door being left ajar, I came in right away."

Gabriel didn't mean to blame her for it, so he nodded and said, "It's fine. Something happened just now, so I went out to take a look. That's why I left the door open."

Did something happen? Nicole belatedly recalled that when she came to this room, there was no one in the empty hall. Frowning, she inquired, "What happened?"

She was locked in the room earlier. When Harvey came just now, he took Zachary away in a hurry, so she didn't think about other matters at that time.

"Yeah. A sniper ambushed and injured someone just now, so it caused the crowd to panic."

Nicole was stunned to hear that. A sniper?

"Who was hurt?" Nicole asked habitually.

"The target of the sniper was Colton, but one of the security guards managed to take the bullet for him. Colton is currently accompanying the security guard to the hospital," Gabriel answered without the intention of hiding.
