When Nicole was about to close her eyes and get some much-needed rest, Colton abruptly opened the door and barged into the room. She was startled because she wasn't in the habit of sleeping in her pants, and she was on the phone with Zachary at the time, so she didn't get under the covers. When he walked in, he noticed she wore boxer shorts, exposing her fair and slender legs. His eyes darkened subconsciously at sight.

She hastily pulled the blanket to cover her legs, then looked up at him and asked, "W-Why are you in such a panic?"

Colton was someone who knew his limits. Moreover, Nicole had stayed in Gardner Residence before, but she had never seen him lose his composure. Obviously, he didn't expect to see her in this state in the room, either. For some reason, a cool-headed person like him was now blushing a shade of pink.

He rubbed his nose awkwardly and turned his eyes away from her before uttering in a soft voice, "Julian brought Noah here."

A layer of surprise flickered in her eyes as she asked in a hurry, "What's going on?"

He explained, "Someone wanted to kill Noah, so Julian brought him here to protect him."

A dark cloud hovered across Nicole's face. Someone wants to kill Noah!

After Noah reported her for her crimes and became the target of murder, she would undoubtedly take the fall once more! Even if there was no solid evidence, the media and public opinion couldn't be contained.

Then, Nicole pulled a long face. Her palms, which were initially on the blanket, started clenching into fists. She gripped the blankets tightly and only glanced at Colton after a moment.

"OK. I got it. You can leave now. I'll come out after changing."

He nodded and left the room, not forgetting to close the door.

After a quick change of clothes, she went downstairs. Three men were currently sitting on the couch and one of them was Noah quivering in fear.

Hearing footsteps, Noah looked up and saw Nicole. He immediately gritted his teeth and scolded, "Was it you, Nicole? Is it because I reported you to the police that you're now trying to kill me the way you killed Mrs. Clancy?"

Nicole frowned and scolded, "What are you talking about?"

He was pretty agitated right now as he was so close to losing his life earlier!

"Who else, if not you? You threw my master in jail, then murdered his wife and children. You're such a ruthless woman, Nicole. I'm going to kill you." Perhaps due to being emotional or frightened by previous events, Noah was significantly worked up when he saw her.
