Right Person, Wrong Time

Chapter 801

Colton reached out and wiped Nicole's lips clean before looking at her.

She didn't put on any makeup today and only wore a light layer of lipstick to make her complexion look better. Once he removed her lipstick to reveal her pale face and lips, he finally saw that her condition was worse than expected.

Frowning, he asked, "Why do you look so pale?"

He thought she would be fine after a good night's rest but now that he was looking at her ghastly face, he couldn't help but feel worried.

Turning her body to the side, Nicole avoided his act of concern before softly retorting in an estranged manner, "President Gardner, I don't need you to be worried about me. Now that Madam Gould is feeling better, there's no need for me to be here. Zach is still waiting for me outside, so please excuse me."

She quickly finished her speech and was ready to leave, but Colton came forward and blocked her way. He looked at her with a gloomy face and a vicious expression, asking, "Do you enjoy using Zachary to make me angry?"

A calm smile appeared on her face as she looked up at him. "President Gardner, you're so full of yourself," she rebuked. "Why is there a need for me to make you angry?"

Colton squinted his long, narrow eyes which were currently filled with a sense of viciousness as he glanced at her coldly.

Meanwhile, Nicole didn't back down and looked back at him before adding, "President Gardner, I came here to visit Madam Gould. Now that she's feeling better, there's no point in me staying here any longer."

After noticing how eager she was to leave, Colton couldn't help but lower his voice and ask, "Nicole, do you hate me so much that you're not willing to stay a minute longer?"

With her back to Colton, she didn't turn around as she stated coldly, "Even if the incident with William Anderson hadn't happened, I still wouldn't have chosen you. The both of us are from different worlds, so why bother getting into a relationship that won't work? You and Miss Wrenn belong with each other."

Once Nicole finished her words, she immediately left.

Colton's expression was frighteningly dark as he stared fixedly at the woman while she left. He had his lips pursed together without saying anything more.

When Nicole came out of the hospital, she finally relaxed as she thought, Colton almost saw through me just now. She clenched her fists, not knowing why her heart was suddenly aching.

Meanwhile, Zachary was waiting outside the hospital and immediately got out of the car to support Nicole after seeing her come out the door.

She looked up at him and called out softly, "Zach."

As he had noticed her poor complexion, he couldn't help caressing her cheek while asking, "Did they mistreat you? Why do you look so pale?"

Shaking her head, Nicole merely murmured, "Maybe it's because I haven't recovered that I look a little pale."
