Nicole sat in the car, looking at the two with a slight frown.

Eventually, it was Zachary who broke the silence. He said in an impassive voice, "Nicole, stay in the car while I step out to take a look." After that, he unbuckled his seat belt, opened the car door, and stepped out of the car.

Standing in front of the car with his hands in his pockets, Colton looked totally indifferent; there wasn't the slightest change in his calm expression when he saw Zachary step out of the car. Looking at the man, Zachary summoned up a faint smile, which was only skin-deep as it didn't reach the depths of his eyes. "Let's talk, President Gardner, shall we?"

Colton responded with a grunt before turning to leave.

Zachary turned around and shot a look at Nicole in the car before stepping outside after the man.

The two men came to a relatively quiet and secluded spot. They were about the same height and had similar vibes about them, and neither of them budged when their gaze met. Finally, Zachary said, "President Gardner, surely you stopped my car today because you've got something to talk to me about, so let's cut to the chase and tell me what it is."

Colton squinted at him through his narrow eyes for a while. Then, he replied in an icy voice, "I hope you can stay away from the mother of my son, of course."

Listening to the man's words, Zachary suddenly let out a chuckle. With a smirk full of mockery, he looked at the former, saying, "President Gardner, you've never been a responsible father since Nicole gave birth to Hayden. When Hayden fell ill and got hospitalized, it was me who was always with them, not you."

Colton's countenance changed slightly at the man's words, but he refused to appear weak in the slightest. With a frosty face, he retorted, "Hayden is my son no matter what. What's wrong with you, President Yates? Are you in the habit of raising someone else's child?"

Instead of getting angry, Zachary replied with an imperturbable expression, "All I want is Nicole, and I'll raise her son as my own, no matter who his father is!"

The instant he finished the sentence, Colton's face finally showed a change in expression. Slightly clenching his fists, he stared coldly at Zachary, saying, "I'm the one Nicole loves."
