Chapter 828

Nicole sat on the couch and relaxed as she leaned back. She no longer maintained the ladylike posture from before.

When she had to greet Siobhan and Rita earlier, she had to maintain a proper and ladylike posture with her back straight, which was tiring.

Now that everyone else was busy socializing, she could finally sit in a corner by herself. Besides, Zachary knew her personality well, so she did not have to put on an act in front of him. As such, she relaxed and slouched on the couch.

He looked at her slumping in a heap and could not help voicing out, "Don't you have an image to maintain?"

She put her hands behind her back and stretched her body before replying, "That's not necessary. Anyway, there isn't anyone in this corner. You know me like the back of your hand, so I don't need to act in front of you."

At that moment, Zachary reached out and tugged Nicole's arms. Since she was dressed in an evening gown, there was still some bare skin revealed despite the conservative design. "That's enough. We're in public. You should watch your behavior."

She no longer moved after he tugged her arms. She had eaten some dainty cakes and cold cuts earlier, so she felt stuffed. Not feeling to leave just yet, she directed her thoughts to the man.

Nicole had only turned to stare at Zachary when he instantly caught on to her intention.

After all, their close interaction over the years resulted in them developing a mutual understanding that required no words. It could even be called telepathy.

He revealed a resigned smile and spoke hoarsely, "What would you like to have? I'll get it for you."

As soon as she saw his initiative, her smile instantly deepened. She beamed widely as her eyes shone. After some consideration, she said, "I want some chocolate-flavored cupcakes, cold cuts, and a drink. That's all for the time being. If you see anything that looks yummy, get them so that you don't need to come back and forth."

"Sure." Zachary nodded and headed over to the center.

After he left, Nicole sat up and yawned. Since she decided to leave her phone in the car because of her evening gown, she had nothing to do as she sat alone. She had just shut her eyes and gotten some rest when a revolting voice suddenly rang in her ears. "Sis, this is such a coincidence. I didn't expect to bump into you here."

Nicole kept her eyes shut and frowned slightly. This familiar and annoying voice can only be Queenie's.

She initially assumed that Queenie must have escaped after William encountered trouble. As such, she was surprised that this troublemaker was still in the country.

She opened her clear eyes gradually before they landed on Queenie. With a tinge of coldness in her gaze, she uttered, "Watch your words. I don't have a sis like you."
