However, he could not say what he intended, and he ultimately said nothing and pushed her out of the room.

When Gabriel overheard his mother's words while standing beside Rita, he helped the elderly to get up. Then, he gently offered, "Let's go out and give them some space to talk, Granny."

Nevertheless, she glanced briefly at Evelyn before focusing on Colton as she felt uneasy. Then, Gabriel led the elderly out of the room.

After they had left the ward, Evelyn and Colton were left alone, and he slid out a stool and sat down on it without saying a word.

Meanwhile, she was still bedridden, her face ashen from excessive blood loss. After a while, she spoke slowly and weakly, "C-Collie, do you mean what you said?"

"Yeah," Colton replied casually. Then, he curled his lips into a sneer as he looked at Evelyn and asked, "Isn't this what you're hoping for?"

Her pale face immediately froze upon hearing that, and she laughed dryly while feigning ignorance. "That's not what I mean. I thought that me being around would make life uncomfortable for you."

However, he was unfazed by her words and did not believe them. Then, he coldly responded, "Your wish has come true. I agreed to marry you."

Evelyn was intimidated by the lack of expression on his face, but her joy at learning that Colton would marry her outweighed her fear. Instinctively, her hands shot up to the blanket and tightened their hold. She mused, My childhood dream has finally come true, and I will marry him! Afterward, she nodded bashfully, lowered her gaze, and whispered, "Okay."

He then stood up and looked down at her. "Take care of yourself. My mom will discuss the wedding details with Madam Gould when you recover."

Evelyn became dizzy and thought she was dreaming. He's really marrying me. Soon, she could not contain her excitement and repeated, "Okay."
