Colton responded with a cheeky smile as he loosened his grip on Nicole's waist. Looking at her, he purred leisurely, "Well, I'm not that desperate. I just want to be close to you."

Nicole was left speechless. He is indeed the only person who can say such shameless things!

She felt discouraged as she closed her eyes and said, "We can't discuss things in such positions, President Gardner. Could you please stand up?"

As he looked at her helpless face, Colton finally let Nicole go, perhaps out of the goodness of his heart.

She quickly moved to the side, looking terrified.

Due to what had just transpired, Colton's pajamas had opened up. His fair skin peeked from beneath his dark blue pajamas and with the waistband loosened, a large portion of his well-built muscles was revealed.

Fortunately, he had worn a boxer under his pajamas, so it revealed nothing else.

But that didn't bother Colton at all. He made no effort to straighten his clothes as he sat on the sofa and casually looked at Nicole. After a while of staring at her, he finally opened his mouth and said, "Just get right to the point. Why are you looking for me?"

Nicole took her time smoothing out the creases on her clothes before responding with her gaze lowered, "News concerning Hayden has begun to spread on the Internet. I'm hoping you can keep the news from escalating."

"No problem," Colton readily agreed with a nod.

Nicole was a little taken aback by this. She hadn't expected him to agree so quickly and she couldn't react for a moment.

Looking at a shocked Nicole, Colton explained with a smile, "Hayden is my son and I will do my part as his father. There has previously been news about him on the Internet which I managed to keep under control at the time. Now, however, I'm afraid it won't be so easy because it appears that someone is behind it."

Nicole's gaze dropped even lower when she heard that. All she wanted was for her life not to be disrupted.

As long as Hayden and she stayed out of any trouble, it didn't matter to her whom Colton wanted to be with.

"Thank you, President Gardner. I guarantee that Hayden and I will not appear in front of Miss Wrenn and you once you're married," Nicole promised.

She was about to leave right after her words, but Colton grabbed her wrist.

That made her uneasy. "President Gardner, what else do you want?"

Colton, however, had narrowed his eyes and there was a tinge of danger in his gaze as he asked coldly, "What do you mean?"

Nicole looked at him strangely. "It means precisely what I just said. Since you are married, Hayden and I won't disrupt your life," she said candidly.
