Chapter 901

The smile on Siobhan's face slowly stiffened.

Not knowing the intricacies involved, Rita agreed readily, "All right. There are many rooms in the Gould Residence anyway. You can ask your daddy to come over and spend time with you."

Siobhan quickly gave Rita a tug, looking awkward.

Noticing that something was off, Rita asked with a frown, "What's wrong? Is there something you can't say?"

Siobhan leaned in and whispered something in her ear.

There were deep furrows in Rita's brow. She lowered her voice and suddenly declared, "Just have them cancel the wedding."

Siobhan froze at her words. Although Evelyn wasn't her biological daughter, they had still spent many years together. She simply couldn't bring herself to do it.

Just when she wanted to say something, she heard Rita continue, "She is that selfish woman's daughter. If it wasn't for that woman back then, Nicole wouldn't have suffered so much outside. Now she is only able to marry Colton because she is the descendant of the Wrenns and the Goulds. If she discarded this status, do you think the Gardners would even spare her a glance?"

After knowing what had happened in the past, Rita no longer harbored positive impressions toward Evelyn, and even her voice as she currently spoke was full of disdain.

"But the Gardner Family has already prepared everything. I don't think it's a good idea if we suddenly pull out of the marriage," Siobhan said in Evelyn's defense.

Rita's eyes narrowed, and she said in a somber voice, "Nicole and Colton had Hayden, and Hayden has a good relationship with his father. I've heard the Gardner Family's boy likes Nicole, so it's perfect to let the two get married now. Either way, the rumor out there is that the Wrenn Family's young lady is getting married to the Gardner Family's man in charge. Now, Evelyn is not a member of the Wrenn Family anymore, Nicole is."

Siobhan had no idea what to say in reply. She knew that Madeline's act of swapping the babies had created a sense of disgust in Rita's heart.
