Chapter 905

Evelyn widened her eyes in stupefaction, never expecting her mother, who had always sided with her, to suggest such an idea. At once, she cried out loud and yelled, "Mom—"

The woman knew what Evelyn was about to say, but since the current situation was against them, Siobhan turned to her and interrupted, "Go back to your room."

While crying and shaking her head, Evelyn firmly bit her lips. "No, Mom! I won't go back to my room! I want to marry Colton!"

Staring at Evelyn's pathetic state, Siobhan immediately revealed a gloomy look as she questioned coldly, "Have you not humiliated yourself enough?" Those words left Evelyn thoroughly stunned, for Siobhan was explicitly scorning her for being humiliating.

Siobhan closed her eyes slightly. She never expected the little girl she raised into a woman would stoop so low as to drug someone else, and she even coerced Colton into marrying her by threatening to commit suicide.

Back when she provided Evelyn with the drug, she innocently thought that it was merely the girl's foolish prank, and it was only now Siobhan realized she had raised a woman who would resort to the most shameful means to fulfill her needs.

"Gabriel, take her away," said Siobhan in exhaustion. Evelyn would only aggravate the situation if she stayed around any longer.

Seeing that Siobhan was intent on making her leave, Evelyn worsened the situation as she shrieked pitifully, "I won't go, I won't go! I want to marry Collie…"

Right then, Gabriel understood that if he didn't take Evelyn away, the Goulds and Wrenns would be shamed. As such, he dragged Evelyn up the stairs. She used all her force to get herself back downstairs, only to hear Gabriel whispering, "Evelyn, be nice now. No one in the room can stand the sight of this."

At once, Evelyn contracted her body as she revealed a miserable grin. "Why?! I only want to marry Colton. I don't even want to be the so-called Miss Wrenn! All I want is to get married to Colton Gardner!" she wailed.

Gabriel couldn't help but feel heartbroken by how Evelyn wept in his arms. After all, she was the woman whom he grew up with, but the moment she pulled off the devious act, the consequences were set in stone.

Given Colton's personality and influence, there was no way he would allow himself to quietly accept such a disastrous fate. Back when Gabriel questioned Evelyn whether she had drugged Colton, he would have had a way to deal with the problem if only she came clean. Everything she did, she did upon herself.

"Evelyn, the instant you had the idea of drugging Colton was the instant you ended all possibilities of being together with him," Gabriel muttered.

Seeing that Siobhan was intent on making her leave, Evelyn worsened the situation as she shrieked pitifully, "I won't go, I won't go! I want to marry Collie…"

With that, Evelyn stopped sobbing. There was nothing but a perplexing expression on her face as her lips twitched slightly. After quite a while, she finally asked, "Gabriel, is Mom going to let Nicole marry Colton?"
