After making sure she looked presentable, Nicole finally came out of the lounge. She walked steadily even in a pair of very high heels.

At 5.00PM, someone came to get Nicole.

Putting her game face on, Nicole felt like today was a dream. She was about to get engaged to Colton.

She slowly walked out but saw a familiar figure right after coming out the door—Evelyn.

While holding back her surprise, Nicole took a slight step back to maintain a safe distance between herself and Evelyn before asking, "Is there anything I can help you with, Miss Wrenn?"

Evelyn's eyes were bloodshot as she stared at Nicole's red bodycon dress. Rage flashed across her eyes as she thought, It's supposed to be my engagement day with Colton, but this b*tch stole that away from me, while I was locked up inside my room by Mr. Wrenn and Madam Gould because they didn't want me outside lest I embarrass them!


As Evelyn thought of that, she couldn't hold back her rage anymore as she fisted her hands. She stared at Nicole with furious eyes and felt so pissed that she raised her arm, ready to slap Nicole. However, Nicole managed to grab her arm before she could do anything.

While sneering, Nicole pushed Evelyn away and warned her, "Miss Wrenn, you're welcome to stay if you're here to enjoy the food. But, if you're here to cause a scene, please leave."

Hearing that, Evelyn was so furious that she turned red. She shot Nicole a death stare as she roared, "Nicole, how can you go on with this engagement with a clear conscience when all of this is clearly mine? It's my engagement! You're just a thief who stole the things that belong to me. Not only have you stolen my parents, but you also took Colton away from me!"

Evelyn's eyes were bloodshot as she screamed.

Meanwhile, Nicole stood in her spot, and her calm face seemed to include a trace of speechlessness.

She slowly rebuked, "Evelyn, I never stole anything from you. They were mine to begin with, and you have been hogging them for so long that you think they should be yours."

She sure is furious. Nicole continued unhurriedly, "Don't you forget that I'm Madam Gould's real daughter. As for you, you're William Anderson's daughter. You have taken over my life for so many years, and we're now back in our original places. So, what's this now? Can't stand the life supposedly yours?"

When faced with Nicole's sarcasm, Evelyn madly wanted to hit Nicole.

However, it was obvious that Nicole wasn't a pushover. She was basically holding down Evelyn with just one hand.
