Chapter 921

The engagement ceremony between the Wrenns and the Gardners was filled with guests, and prestigious families from in and out of the country were invited to witness this historical ceremony.

In the future, not only would the Gardners establish a partnership with the Wrenns, but the Goulds, who had a marital relationship with the Wrenns, would also join in. These few families already had some collaboration with each other, but they weren't long-term collaborations. Now that they were linked through marriage, it was difficult to imagine whether the partnership between these three corporations would greatly change the future direction of their business.

Due to that fact, the guests at the banquet were all treating them with respect.

Nicole was comfortable being in such a situation. She had a fake smile as she greeted each guest with Colton beside her, considerately introducing everyone to her.

After walking around and toasting everyone, Nicole felt her legs were sore.

When she arrived somewhere secluded, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

While looking at her tired face, Colton smiled as he supported her body and leaned closer to her ear, whispering, "You can lean on me if you're tired."

Nicole ignored him but still cared about their image, so she maintained their positions and didn't push him away.

Looking disdainful, she asked in a hushed voice, "When will this end?"

Having been idle for a few months, she was used to that lifestyle. Also, it had been a long time since she last wore high heels for extensive periods. Now that she had been standing in these heels for almost three hours and was continuously walking in them, she felt a fiery pain on the bottom of her feet.

"Soon. There are only the elders left. Once we have a toast with them, we can rest," Colton replied softly.

This engagement was just a formality, but many people came to congratulate them. Therefore, they had to remain polite and toast everyone at every table.

Frowning, Nicole felt somewhat displeased. If getting engaged is already this much trouble, wouldn't it be even more troublesome when I get married?

However, she only thought about it and did nothing else because she hadn't decided to marry anyone yet.

Colton pulled her toward the table their elders were sitting at. Benedict wasn't here today, probably because he was afraid of upsetting the mood if he came. After all, he had previously strongly disapproved of Nicole and Colton's relationship.

In the meantime, Wendy was sitting beside her mom. When she saw Nicole coming over, she grinned. "Nicole, I knew Colton would end up marrying you! Also, I've always thought that you would be my sister-in-law."

Nicole still had a faint smile, and she didn't refute Wendy.

Afraid that Nicole might be tired, Colton spoke up. "Well, Nicky has been accompanying me all over the place and has drunk quite a lot of wine. Her tolerance isn't that high, so let's keep this short so that she can head home and rest."

The few laughed when they saw how considerate Colton was acting.
