Chapter 944 Silence

Nicole woke up feeling disoriented and weak, and she noted how quiet it was.

When she saw Colton sitting beside her as soon as she opened her eyes, she would rather close them again so that she didn't have to see him.

However, Colton already noticed that she had woken up. Knowing that she didn't want to see him, he pursed his lips and murmured, "I'm glad you're awake. The doctor said your body is weak and you can't get agitated. I acted brusquely earlier. I should have considered your feelings."

She couldn't help but feel weird upon hearing that. He will yield and even apologize, eh?

Her eyeballs rolled around, but she still did not open her eyes.

Colton knew that she was awake, but when he saw that she didn't want to answer him, he continued talking. "The doctor came and checked on you earlier. He said that you're pregnant."

Nicole finally showed some reaction right then by opening her eyes. Her gaze was filled with astonishment. She couldn't believe how she had gotten pregnant because of that one night she spent with Colton.

She raised her eyes to look at Colton, her palms initially lying limp on the blanket balling into fists. After a while, she bitterly choked out, "I'm pregnant?"

"Yes." Colton continued, "The doctor said it hasn't been a month. It's from that night."

Vaguely, Nicole recalled how she didn't consider the possibility of her getting pregnant at that time. They didn't do anything to prevent pregnancy either.

She bit her lip and closed her eyes again before she insisted, "I will take care of it. You don't have to worry, President Gardner."

Colton turned somber when he heard those cold-hearted words. His dark pupils were fixated on her as he asked in a soft voice, "Nicky, do you not want the child?"

Nicole's complexion turned ashen, but she didn't answer him.

Seeing this, he let out a resigned smile and looked down. "I will respect your decision," he whispered.

Nicole was surprised to see him compromise. She thought that he would do whatever it took to keep the child.

She gave a low hum in response and didn't say anything else.

Colton wasn't going to continue pestering her when she didn't bother talking to him. Now that she had almost made a full recovery, she only needed to rest for a few more days before she was good to go.

"Rest up. I'm going out for a bit. Just press the bell if something doesn't feel right."

With that, he immediately walked out.

Leaning against the head of the bed, Nicole caressed her belly as a conflicted expression appeared on her face. She never thought that she would get pregnant again after so many years.
