Chapter 949 Be Good, It’s Bad for You

Nicole's voice faltered and she placed her hand on her forehead before shaking her head. "I'm fine."

She got up and leaned against the bed. For some reason, she felt a bit uncomfortable in her stomach.

Colton felt his heart tighten when he looked at Nicole's pale face. He reached out and touched her forehead, relieved only when he didn't feel a fever.

"The food is ready downstairs. Get up and eat something," Colton said with concern.

Nicole nodded. After waking up from her sleep, she felt a bit hungry.

"After we finish eating, let's go to the Gould Residence," Colton continued.

Nicole paused and after a while, she whispered in a hoarse voice, "Is there any new clue?"

"No, the people I sent out found nothing. However, Hayden never left, which is suspicious," Colton replied.

The man had not rested at all. After Nicole fell asleep, he immediately contacted Beryl and had him send someone to investigate.

However, after searching for a whole morning, they found no clues and it aroused his suspicion.

Nicole felt disappointed, but she didn't say anything more. She turned over and got out of bed, thereafter heading to the bathroom to freshen up.

After the two finished their meal, they headed straight to the Gould Residence. As Colton had said, when they were away for the past few days, only Siobhan and the butler had been taking care of Hayden. No strangers had appeared.

The Gould Residence was full of surveillance cameras, but the footage showed nothing unusual.

After hearing about Hayden's poisoning, Rita was distraught, but her family didn't let her go to the hospital because she was quite elderly.

She had been worried all night. When she saw Nicole and Colton coming over, she asked, "How is Hayden? I heard from Siobhan that he was poisoned. What happened?"

Seeing Rita's concerned look, Nicole sighed softly and comforted her slowly, "Old Mrs. Gould, Hayden is fine. There is a doctor with him now, but the poisoning incident is suspicious. I want to investigate it thoroughly."

Rita nodded, her voice now laced with a hint of severity as she stated, "We must investigate it thoroughly. How dare they do something under the Goulds' noses?!"

Nicole said a few more words of comfort before starting the investigation.

The Gould Residence had over a hundred surveillance cameras, including those in the courtyard.

Beryl had already sent people to inspect the cameras, but they found nothing suspicious.

Meanwhile, Nicole went to Hayden's room, which had already been cleaned. She carefully lifted the quilt and pillows on the bed and looked at them closely.
