A Betrayal, a Night Out, and a Secret Encounter

Renee and Andrew King have been together for almost a year. Their relationship was arranged by their parents, who wanted to connect to the powerful and wealthy King family. Renee didn't feel a deep love for Andrew, but she agreed to the engagement under pressure from her family. She hoped that with time, she would fall for him.

However, her world shatters when she walks in on Andrew having sex with her own sister. When confronted, Andrew callously blames Renee for the affair, claiming she's a "prude" for not being intimate with him. Heartbroken and insulted, Renee ends the engagement, refusing to settle for such a betrayal.

Overwhelmed with pain, Renee impulsively gets out of a cab and enters a nightclub, hoping to drink away her sorrow. She learns it's a mask party and puts one on before heading to the bar. She drinks heavily and eventually notices a gorgeous man sitting next to her, also wearing a mask. In her drunken state, she craves intimacy and boldly asks him if he wants to spend the night with her.

To her surprise, he agrees, and they head to a hotel room. In the room, Renee suggests they take off their masks. The man removes Renee’s mask, but keeps his on. He then suddenly turns on her, angrily asking why she is there and why she "spreads her legs for every guy at the bar." Renee is confused and furious at his judgment. They exchange insults, and their desire for each other vanishes. The man, a stranger to her, calls a cab for her and tells her to leave.

As Renee's cab pulls away, the man, Marcelo, watches from the window. He is relieved he didn't sleep with her. He is Andrew's cousin and is thankful Renee didn't recognize him. He almost had sex with his cousin's fiancée. As he stands there, his butler calls to inform him that his mother is trying to find him a wife. Marcelo is annoyed and tells him not to worry about it.
