Anya blinked, still half-asleep, and saw who had come through the door. "Chad, you're back."

She instinctively scooted closer to Leo.

Leo pulled her into his arms, brushing a hand through her hair before kissing her gently. "I was in a bad mood tonight. Did I scare you?"

Anya rubbed her eyes, burrowing into his chest, and nodded.

He hugged her tighter. "What's there to be scared of? That tough guy act is for my employees. They're the ones who should be scared. You? You're the boss's lady. If you ever feel like yelling at me, go right ahead-I'm the one who should be nervous."

In the dark, Anya's voice was soft and a little shy. "Chad, I could never~"

Leo laughed quietly. "Hang around your aunt and your mom more. Tomorrow I'll ask them to teach you a thing or two."

Anya mumbled, "Okay~"

It was late, and they were both too tired to stay up.

With the misunderstanding sorted out, Anya's heart felt lighter.

Leo often thought his Ms. Anya was almost ridiculously easy to please. He'd heard other execs complain during dinners about their girlfriends-how they'd throw a fit and demand a car, a house, a designer bag worth a fortune, or some crazy expensive dress. Once they got what they wanted, then they'd come back all smiles, acting sweet again.

But his girlfriend? She never wanted anything. In fact, she was always trying to find ways to help him out. If she got upset, all Leo had to do was coax her a little and she'd forgive him-never once asking for gifts. If he wasted money, she'd actually scold him for it.

People had told Anya more than once, "If you're too understanding, your boyfriend's just going to take you for granted."
