Chapter 8 Holding His

Hand

Meeting, or even just seeing Elliot, wasn’t something that Corynn wanted. Their relationship which ended three years ago had been so hurtful, she was determined not to go through the same pain again.

After regaining her composure, she took in a deep breath and returned to the private room.

“What took you so long?” Erick asked when he saw her.

Corynn rubbed her tummy and replied, “My stomach was troubling me a little.”

As her face was already quite flushed due to the alcohol she had consumed, no one found it really strange when they saw the unusual red color on her face.

Extending a cup of water to her, Jason said, “Have some honey water, Corynn. It will help in calming your stomach.”

With a soft smile on her face, Corynn nodded and accepted the honey water.

Since they met each other, Jason had always been nice to her. He wasn’t one to care about her past and had been a strong pillar by her side for the past three years. After confessing his feelings to her once, he never tried to pressure her.

But then, Corynn had made up her mind never to be a burden to him. Her past was far from commendable, and due to the complications from her miscarriage three years ago, there was a high possibility that she would never be able to conceive again.

As a son of one of the most prestigious families in Orelens, Jason had to get a woman who would be able to provide him with an heir. To Corynn, that woman wasn’t her.

Therefore, over the years, she had done all she could to keep Jason at arm’s length.
