Chapter 9 She Is Mine

In the car…

Corynn was plucking up the courage to explain what just happened when Jason unexpectedly spoke first. “It’s okay, Corynn. You don’t have to explain. I did that willingly.”

Corynn subconsciously clenched her fists, feeling that she was being so unfair to Jason.

“Oh, come on,” Jason continued with a lighthearted chuckle. As though he read her mind, he added, “Don’t feel guilty, Corynn. I’m more than happy to play along.”

Corynn sighed. She genuinely couldn’t understand what Jason saw in her, the girl who was constantly the subject of rumors and gossip.

Whenever she tried to persuade Jason to get to know other women, he’d always stop her with a reassuring

smile.

The rest of the car ride was quiet. As they neared Corynn’s home, Jason suddenly broke the silence. “Corynn, did you run into him at the restaurant? Is that why you were gone for so long?”

Corynn stiffened, wondering how he put two and two together.

Jason smiled knowingly and pointed at his earlobe. “You have a hickey right there.”

Corynn turned as red as a tomato and looked down, wanting fiercely to defend herself, but upon peering at Jason’s expression, she decided against giving him false hope.
