Chapter 12 When Will We

Get Married

Elliot finally looked up and met her expectant gaze. “Why are you in such a hurry?”

“You see, I’m already twenty–four. It’s high time we tied the knot. Why don’t we just get the marriage certificate first? That way, it won’t affect your work, but we’ll finally be husband and wife!”

She gazed at Elliot with anticipation. Ever since they got engaged, she had been looking forward to their married life. However, with each passing day of their stagnant engagement, she grew increasingly restless.

Elliot looked at her with complicated feelings. He knew that he should marry Amanda soon, but for some

reason, he felt averse to the idea.

Amanda was mortified. “How on earth is ‘this‘ fine? If we don’t get married, I’m doomed to stay just a fiancee

forever!”
