I don’t know where to start with this because, honestly, I’m terrified of talking to people, even though I’m just typing this for you to read. If I could use emojis, I would throw in a laughing one here because, like Chandler, I use humor to cover up my lack of social skills. Unfortunately, unlike him, I’m not funny, so it just comes off as awkward. But anyway… back to the point.
I wanted to write this to say thank you to everyone who has read, is reading, and will continue to read my book. I cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciate it. I know it’s not easy to start a book especially a long one and stick with it. That’s why I try my hardest and put a lot of effort into it. But I’m not perfect, and I make mistakes. Because of that, I’m often scared to check the comments. Not only do I struggle with talking to people, but I also tend to cry a lotso please take it easy on me (another laughing emoji here).
I’m still learning. There is so much I don’t know, even though I try to read as much as I can to make my story as realistic as possible but again, I’m not perfect. I do want you to know that every correction or piece of feedback I receive, I take it with gratitude (after crying first, of course), and I truly try to learn from it.
When I started writing this book, all I knew was that I wanted to create a story that I would want to read. I didn’t know if it would be long or short. I just wanted it to be good. Some days are easier than others, but I never want to lose sight of that goal. And I know… Ava and Grayson’s drama can be exhausting. I created them, so to me, they feel more real than you can imagine. Sometimes, I just want to yell at them both to stop before my head explodes.
But to everyone reading this, I want you to know that everything I write no matter how difficult some days are–has a purpose. I never add things just because I want ti keep writing; I want every detail to matter. Writing a story is one thing, but making it interesting enough for someone to invest their time in is another. That’s why, with every chapter, I check in with myself to make sure I’m still working hard to write a book that’s worth the precious time you are spending on it and I love these characters so much and wouldn’t want their story line to be ruined just because I want to fill spaces and if I could write a character into my reality? I would steal Grayson from Ava and marry him myself–but that’s beside the point.
So once again, thank you. Whether you hsve read every chapter, stopped halfway, or simply glanced at it, I appreciate you more than I can say. I don’t know how many people will read this, but if you do, just know I’m sending you a really big and personal thank you.
I could write a good book, but it would mean nothing without all of you reading it and for that I am truly, truly grateful.
-Ava’s POV-
“Is it just me or is your mother, like, kind of hot?”
I clicked my teeth, swatting at Isabella’s head, but she dodged the motion with a laugh, “Stop being so grumpy. I mean, I’m not the only one noticing it. Look at how everyone’s staring.”
I turned my glare on her, narrowing my eye, “Don’t make me kick you off,
Isabella rolled her eyes dramatically. “Wish you could.”
this… this was different. Her age had only added to She wasn’t wrong, though. My mother had always carried a presence, bu the allure, like she’d become even more untouchable with time. Evelyn Pierce wasn’t a woman to be overlooked, and her elegance had always managed to make everyone–myself included–feel like mere ants in her path. Even the simple act of walking to the gate had an air of superiority to it, as if the rest of the world existed just to move aside for her.
I glanced around, following my mother’s steps as she moved ahead of us in line. And of course, people were staring. It was subtle, but I could feel it–the way they ogled her as she walked, too proud to even try hiding it. I could sense their admiration, their fascination with her aura.
