The atmosphere turned icy at the drop of a hat after Elias’ words.

Amanda gazed at the man dumbly. Meanwhile, the remnants of anger had yet to disappear from his face.

He was genuinely furious. This was the first time he had wanted to celebrate her birthday sincerely, but it was all ruined.
