Marion’s hand trembled, and her phone slipped from her grasp, hitting the bed rail with a loud crack before landing on the floor.

Cassie woke abruptly, instinctively turning towards Marion. Cassie’s heart surged with a mix of excitement and heartache. “Marion, are you awake?”
