Chapter 185

Allie, who was outside the door, retracted her gaze from the phone screen when the call had ended.

As a woman, Allie's sixth sense had been tingling throughout the morning. Why did Avery pick up the phone but said nothing? What is she up to? Also, did I just hear her moaning on the phone just now? Was she moaning in pleasure?

At that thought, Allie had goosebumps all over her body.

“Avery! Open the door now!” Allie was eager to find out who the adulterer was.

Before she went over, she had already rung Dylan's parents, and they had told her that their son was still in bed.

Besides, Allie had thought it was impossible to find Cayden there because Xavier said Cayden had been working overtime for the past couple of days. Hence, it was safe to assume that he had been sleeping in the office.

She gathered that the reason Cayden had been working overtime was that he wanted to get all the business matters settled before going to Livingsfill to keep Avery company.

Allie was infuriated because neither she, Rory, nor Zachary had been treated with such attentiveness by Cayden. Who would've thought that Avery was such a promiscuous woman? Her husband is sleeping alone at home, and the man who adores her has been working overtime because of her! How could she be having sex with another man so early in the morning? I must catch this wh*re red-handed today!

Having decided what to do, Allie, like a maniac, shouted at the top of her lungs, “Avery! I know what kind of naughty business you're up to in there! You guys can't possibly stay in there for the rest of your lives, can you? I'm going to stay here all day long if I have to! I'll wait for you to come out. You're not getting out of this!”

At this moment, the wooden bed in the cramped rented house started creaking.

As Cayden was picking up the pace in bed, the sound got even more rhythmic.

In between the creaking sounds were their rapid breathing.

Avery was enjoying the moment and trying to stay alert at the same time because she was afraid that he would go overboard. When he was about to climax, she endured the embarrassment and held him.


Cayden let out a moan and held her hands.

After a few more thrusts, he finally ejaculated.

Avery leaned against the window and glanced at Cayden as she took a few deep breaths to calm herself down.

Still blushing uncontrollably, she retracted her hands and pulled a blanket over to cover herself.

Cayden lowered his head and kept his eyes shut for a while to relive what had just happened. With a gulp, he opened his eyes.

Avery looked into his eyes and saw the passion and desire filled within.

At that moment, Cayden's musky and masculine scent filled the room and got rid of all the emotional barriers between them.

Avery bowed her head, but Cayden lifted her chin with his slender finger and leaned in for a kiss on her lips.

A passionate kiss ensued. By the time Cayden retreated, her lips and tongue had already gone numb. He then proceeded to kiss her cheeks and ears, his burning and steamy breaths breezing past her ears.

Allie was still waiting outside the door, and her patience was running thin.

She kept calling Avery on the phone, but no one picked up.

Right when Allie clenched her fists and wanted to knock on the door, the door opened.

Avery was in her conservative-looking pajamas made of cotton when she opened the door.

Allie was stunned. She stared at Avery before shifting her gaze toward the inside. Indeed! There's a pair of male leather shoes!

Judging by the brand and workmanship of the pair of shoes, Allie knew it was of a renowned designer brand. Those shoes are expensive!

“Not bad. You've found yourself a rich man, haven't you?” Allie looked at Avery in disbelief.

Avery closed the door and went to get a pair of slippers for Allie.

Allie kicked the slippers away in disgust. She walked straight into the living room with her high heels and threw her purse on the couch.

“Where's that man? Does he not have the balls to come out?” Allie had already thought about what to do prior to that. If the man was an influential man in the business world or the entertainment industry in Ackleton, she would catch that man red-handed by using her identity as Dylan's aunt. She didn't want the Moore family's reputation to get tarnished.

“There's no man,” Avery replied calmly before going to the kitchen to pour Allie a glass of water. She then placed the glass of water on a coffee table in front of the couch.

Allie didn't drink the water, of course. Instead, she sat down and asked, “There's no man here?”

Avery nodded. “Nope.”
