Chapter 301

Toby found out from Allie that Cayden was having a business meeting at Pinnacle Hotel, so he dropped everything to rush there.

Toby waited for a long time for the meeting to end. The moment it ended, Toby saw Cayden dressed in a suit, being surrounded by a group of elites when they walked out.

Although the men around Cayden were all legendary figures, Cayden's cold and arrogant aura made him stand out from the rest.

“Cayden,” Toby called out.

Cayden waved the group of elites away when he saw his uncle.

Instantly, the group left tactfully, and only Cayden and Toby were left in the hall.

“What's up, Uncle Toby?” Cayden asked.

“Have I wronged you, Cayden? Why are you trying to shut my company down? Cayden, could you show Musk Group mercy? Do it for my sake.” In order to save his hard work over the years, Toby was willing to bow down to Cayden and speak courteously.

In just a few days, Toby's initial haggard appearance made him look even older. My company is now on the verge of crumbling down. I would do anything to save my company, even if that means I have to bow down to a younger man like him. However, I still don't know why a mighty business entity like Trident Group would cause my company trouble.

Upon hearing that, Cayden curled his lips into a smile. “Uncle Toby, you shouldn't have come to look for me today. You should ask Dylan what has he done.”

If Dylan had backed down, signed the divorce agreement with Avery back then, and promised to not bother Avery again, Cayden would consider showing mercy to Musk Group. After all, they were family.

In fact, Cayden would've taken Musk Group down way earlier if not out of respect for Toby.

However, Dylan was too much, and he crossed Cayden's bottom line. That was why Cayden wanted to take Musk Group down as soon as possible.

Toby nearly burst a vessel and vomited blood when he heard that everything was caused by Dylan. “Dylan? What did that b*stard do this time around?”

Indeed, that rebellious son of his had never stopped making Toby worry about him.

With a cold expression, Cayden said, “Dylan ordered people to upload false posts on the internet, which seriously damaged my reputation and Avery's. What's even more unforgivable is that he also involved Zach and Rory. The kids are innocent, no? Uncle Toby, if you don't want Dylan to make mistakes again, you should teach him some lessons. Otherwise, I don't mind disciplining him for you.”

Toby felt drained when he thought about what he had just heard from Cayden. So it's that b*stard's fault.

Toby was on the verge of collapsing, and he had to lean against the hotel's pillar to support himself. “Cayden, are you targeting Musk Group because of Avery?”

Cayden nodded.

“How could you do this to me, Cayden? How could you side with an outsider to oppose me? I am your uncle.” Toby was in disbelief.

Cayden was so talented and capable that even Toby was impressed. Cayden had always been a rational person. Is he really going to ignore the bigger picture for the sake of a woman? Is he really going against my company for the sake of that woman?

What surprised Toby more was the fact that he couldn't defeat a young man, albeit being involved in the business world for decades himself. It has been almost thirty years since I founded the company. Still, Cayden managed to defeat me in just a few days' time. How embarrassing is this?

“I'm giving you twenty-four hours to get Dylan to sign the divorce agreement with Avery, Uncle Toby. If you can do that, your company lives. If you fail, don't blame me for showing no mercy.” With that, Cayden walked past Toby.

While trembling all over, Toby had no choice but to call Allie.

That day, Jeffrey was out playing chess with his friends, Lily had gone back to her mother's, and Kendrick was out somewhere. Only Allie, Cayden, and a middle-aged maid were left in the huge Moore residence.

Allie was seen sitting on a bench with a long face.

She had a cup of coffee in front of her, and the elegant-looking Cayden was sitting opposite her, with a coffee table in between them.

“Hi, Mom.” Cayden knew she had called him there to lecture him, so he purposely ignore her grim expression.

Infuriated, Allie roared, “Don't call me that. I didn't give birth to an unfilial son like you! Toby is your uncle! How could you target his company?”

In a flat tone, Cayden answered, “Uncle Toby's business philosophy is outdated, and he often makes stupid decisions. He's also too arrogant to listen to others' opinions. Consequently, Musk Group is in debt. Besides, their company's account is a mess. Even if I don't have a go at his company, it's going to fail in a few years' time...”
