As that thought crossed his mind, Zachary couldn't help but feel flustered.

Although he was a boy, he liked sweet stuff as much as Rory. Judging by how Daddy was biting Mommy's lips, the candy in Mommy's mouth must be sweet! I want to have a taste of Mommy's candy too.

As smart as Zachary was, he was still a little kid. He had no idea what Cayden and were doing. Hence, he thought Avery had candy in her mouth, and Cayden was having a taste of it.

“Mommy, I want candy as well. What flavor is the one you have in your mouth?” Rory ran toward Avery and stared innocently at her lips.

“O-Oh... No. Em... We're not eating candies.” Avery was blushing because she was amused and embarrassed at the same time.

With that, she glared furiously at Cayden.

Cayden responded by flashing an innocent look. I was so in the moment. How could I have noticed their presence? Besides, this isn't even the first time these two kids get in the way. Over and over again, they just keep interrupting us. Heck, I can't even kiss my woman passionately without watching my back! They always ruin the moment!

That was why Cayden had made up his mind about not having more kids. I can only imagine how frustrating it would be to have another one or two of them getting in between me and Avery.

Meanwhile, Zachary and Rory kept staring dubiously at their parents, not knowing if they could trust them.

Seeing that, Avery squatted down to be at eye level with them and explained patiently, “Actually, we were kissing. It's the same as how I usually kiss you guys. It's a way of showing affection. When we kiss, it means our feelings for each other have deepened. Do you guys understand, Sweethearts?”

Being an early bloomer had its perks. Zachary quickly understood what Avery was telling him. Even though Daddy kisses Mommy differently, that only means they're very fond of each other. That's a good thing.


On the other hand, Rory asked innocently, “Mommy, you said that's a way to show affection, right? Does it mean I can kiss Zach that way as well?”

Avery was at a loss for words. After a while, she uttered, “That's something only parents can do...”

Cayden's expression turned solemn, and he carried Rory to her room. “Do your homework. You aren't done yet, right? If you don't finish it, there's no dinner for you.”

Rory struggled to free herself. “Hmph! Why do you always use the same trick to threaten me, Daddy?”

Despite her words, Rory obediently did her homework.

After all, she was a glutton. Whoever prevented her from eating would end up as her nemesis.

Meanwhile, Zachary put on a grim expression and stared at Cayden unhappily while leaning on Avery's chest.

When he saw Cayden approaching, he hugged Avery tighter.

Cayden then looked at him puzzledly and asked, “What are you doing, Zachary?”

Zachary threw Cayden a hostile glance and said, “Daddy, don't kiss Mommy ever again!”

Cayden raised his brows slightly. “Why is that?”

“Don't you see? Mommy's lips are swollen. Mommy must be in pain.” Zachary scowled at Cayden.

He only saw Cayden kissing Avery earlier and he didn't notice her swollen lips. Even if Daddy loves Mommy, must he make her lips swollen?

Cayden's gaze deepened when he glanced at Avery's swollen and reddened lips. After that, he gave Zachary the side-eye and said, “Your mommy isn't in pain. She likes it that way.”

Avery ignored Cayden's teasing statement and hugged Zachary tighter. I must avoid letting the kids see us kissing after this.

Seeing that Avery was keeping mum, Zachary stomped his feet angrily and grumbled, “You're lying, Daddy! You're an adult, so you shouldn't tell lies. Do you have no shame? Mommy doesn't like how rough you are. She's definitely saddened!”

Cayden swept a cold glance at Zachary before looking at Avery ambiguously. “Do you think your mommy is sad? The more I do that to her, the more in love we are.”

Zachary hated how Cayden looked at him. It's as if he's doubting my words!

With that in mind, Zachary took a deep breath and wrapped his arms around Avery's neck. In a serious tone, he said, “Mommy, I'll protect you from now on so that Bad Daddy would never be rough with you again. Now that your lips are swollen, you'll be in pain when you eat. What can I do to make it go away?”
