The CEO Gets What He Wants

Those are some big words. Does she know what she has just said? Most people would still have flaws in their presentation after they have prepared their materials. Yet, she's saying she can present without reading from a script! Everyone in the conference room was looking at Avery dubiously. Consequently, she felt nervous, and her palms started sweating.

Feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, Avery couldn't help but clasp the documents in her hands.

Those were some architectural design drafts that she accidentally found in her filing cabinet when she went to the design department to look for information.

Obviously, those sketches weren't abstract graphic design drawings, nor were they 3D renderings made by software. Instead, those architectural renderings were drawn with sketch pens and colored pencils in her spare time.

Although Avery had never studied professional drawing, she was incredibly talented. In addition, she loved to paint, and she would paint in her spare time. Whenever she had her burst of inspiration, she would immediately pick up her sketch pens and colored pencils to draw her ideas instead of using any software.

At that moment, those were the sketches Avery was holding in her hands.

Before that, the department head would ridicule her sketching by saying how it was an old-fashioned method of designing. However, she ignored those comments and insisted on doing it her way.

Now, all the design samples and 3D renderings of urban reform buildings saved in the flash drive are all wiped out. Perhaps I can use these original drawings to get me out of trouble. With that in mind, Avery steeled herself and stood firmly on the stage.

She then opened the cover of the scanner and placed her designs on it.

After that, she operated the scanner deftly.

Seeing that, everyone was at a loss, wondering what the employee who made a mistake was going to do.

Their expression changed when they saw the scribbled architectural drawings on the huge screen in the conference room. Despite looking scribbled, the drawings left the audience in awe. Having done that, Avery showed some pictures of the old commercial street from her database.

Her delicate voice then resonated across the conference room when she said through the microphone, “I'm truly sorry about the delay. Now, we may start the conference regarding the theme chosen. I've drawn these sketches using sketch pens and colored pencils to showcase what the commercial district would look like after the redesign. I would like to explain the concept and ideas behind my design.”

At that moment, the people in the audience all had different expressions on their faces.

However, most of them were seemingly curious and in disbelief.

While Cayden was wearing a warm smile on his handsome face, Johnny was frowning.

At the same time, Nina, Cecelia, and the others seemed relieved, and Yvette was sizing Avery up with her scrutinizing gaze.

Furthermore, Armand and Michael seemed utterly surprised.

Meanwhile, Wisteria and Yulissa both had grim expressions on their faces. Yulissa was even clenching her fists in annoyance.

With a laser pointer in her hand, Avery pointed at the current state of the old commercial district and said in a deep voice, “This is a photo of the old commercial district situated in the prime location in Moomluft Square. Over a decade ago, this was the busiest commercial district. However, with the expansion of urbanization, changes in the commercial pattern, and the constraints of traffic factors, the disadvantages of the old commercial district have gradually been increasing. In the end, the condition of the district became unfavorable. Now, a transformation is the only viable option. One may wonder how a certified architect would creatively redesign a commercial district so that it would once again become a futuristic commercial district that could accommodate the changes in the business scene and attract the crowd. In my opinion, the current design of the commercial district is great. However, it's undeniably outdated. The most favorable thing about this commercial district is that it's located in the city center. Hence, it's surrounded by many other high-end business districts and high-end residences. That's why I think the theme for the redesign should be trendy and modern. That was what I had in mind when I did my design sketches. Although these sketches were drawn by hand, please take a look at them. I think this design works wonders for the consumers because...”

Although Avery's drawings looked scribbled, they obviously illustrated her immense skill in sketching and designing.

Those colorful atmospheric architectural appearances and various irregular multi-story buildings seemed distinct individually but complemented each other well.

She also added a lot of trendy elements to the design. The design emphasized open spaces, ecological landscapes, spectacular gardens for entertainment purposes on the rooftops, and convenient transportation methods to demonstrate the potential of the area becoming a booming business district.

Evidently, all the designs of the buildings Avery created could take one's breath away.

As Avery was presenting, Cayden was sitting in his seat quietly and watching her presentation attentively. Now, she looks assertive and confident instead of a woman on the verge of bursting into tears moments prior.

Although Avery was speaking in a gentle tone, she was laser-focused and bold with her answers.

Despite the fact that Johnny was constantly throwing questions at her, Avery managed to answer him effortlessly.

Needless to say, Avery's performance was stellar.
