Cayden had always been charming, and his actions were always graceful. The moment he got out of the car, the female employees at the bridal store turned to look at him with sparkling eyes.

“Oh gosh, Mr. Moore is so handsome! He looks much better in person than on TV.”

“This kind of elite can only be seen in financial magazines. He has such a strong aura. I'm about to faint! Ahh...”

“The woman who's marrying him is so lucky. If only I was the one marrying him...”

The female employees were huddled together as they whispered among themselves and stared at the handsome Cayden with bright eyes.

The man of their gossip stood straight, and his posture resembled a soldier's. He took slow steps as he carefully helped Avery walk through the doors of the bridal store.

“Welcome, Mr. Moore and Ms. Rumpley.”

The manager of the bridal store respectfully welcomed them into the store before he eagerly introduced, “There are a few new branded high-end designs that just arrived at our store. They were all personally designed and sewn by famous wedding gown designers. There are many different styles. We have exquisite and simple designs, and also traditional and bold styles. No matter what type of gown you like, we can provide it for you. What kind of style do you prefer, Ms. Rumpley?”

Avery was wrapped in Cayden's embrace, and her face had an indescribable worry. “I'm fine with anything.”

The manager of the wedding store was surprised as he looked at Avery.

She looks about twenty and innocent yet elegant.

Under the manager's burning gaze, he could tell at first glance that Avery was not wearing makeup. She was barefaced, and her soft, supple skin caused others to be envious. She also had a curvy body and was a total beauty.

Although Avery did not say much, her uniquely refreshing aura easily attracted others' attention.

Shouldn't a woman be happy when she comes to a bridal store to pick her wedding gown? Plus, the man she's marrying is the renowned Cayden Moore of Ackleton. Many women would do anything to try their luck with him. It broke the hearts of many socialites and young women when the news of his engagement broke out. Shouldn't she be happy to be loved by such an outstanding man? Why don't I feel any happiness coming from her?

The manager of the bridal store did not say anything about it despite his curiosity.

He fulfilled his duty and enthusiastically introduced the wedding gowns in the store to Avery, “Ms. Rumpley, this is one of our prized gowns. It just arrived at our store recently. Its design is modern and majestic, and it looks more elegant than traditional gowns. It definitely suits your aura. Please give it a try.”

Avery turned to look at Cayden innocently.

Cayden lowered his head and pressed a gentle kiss on her soft lips. “Go ahead. I want to see how you look like in a wedding gown.”

Avery hummed in response and followed the sales attendant to the changing room.

Cayden sat on the luxurious couch in the wedding store. He absent-mindedly flipped through a magazine prepared for grooms to read and sipped his coffee as he waited patiently.

Avery changed into the extravagant and gorgeous wedding gown in the changing room. She did not notice the look of surprise on the faces of the two sales attendants.

As she looked into the mirror and stared at the image of herself wearing a wedding gown, various emotions bubbled up in Avery. She felt happy and grateful but also sorrow and pain. All those emotions gathered together made her breathless.

A sales attendant with her hair tied in a bun was helping Avery to zip up the gown as she exclaimed, “Ms. Rumpley, you look terrific in this wedding gown! Whether it's the design of the cinched waist or the exquisite tailoring, it fully complements your aura. Did you know? A socialite came to try on this same gown two days ago, but it doesn't look half as beautiful on her as on you!”

The corners of Avery's eyes turned red as sadness filled her heart. I look so beautiful in a wedding gown, but it's a pity I can't wear it to marry the man I love.

“Ms. Rumpley? What's wrong?”

The other short-haired sales attendant noticed Avery's unusual change in emotions and asked curiously, “Do you feel uncomfortable? If you feel unwell, you can rest in the VIP waiting room.”

Avery shook her head and did not say anything.

She had a huge secret that was related to Cayden's safety. It was like a sharp arrow laced with poison aimed at his chest, which could kill him at any time.

Avery hid this secret deep in her heart. She feared others would take advantage of him if they knew about it.

However, she was too weak, and she could only do so much for him.

Avery felt her heart being ripped into pieces when she thought of the woman's threat and how it was used to force her to leave Cayden.

Seeing the frown on Avery's face, the sales assistant with the bun carefully asked, “Ms. Rumpley, are you having pre-wedding jitters? Don't worry. It's very common for women to be anxious and scared before their wedding. They're afraid they won't have as much freedom as when they were single once they enter the gates of marriage. However, if you and your partner love each other immensely, then all that won't matter. Besides, Mr. Moore is the man of many unmarried women's dreams in Ackleton. He's a charming and excellent man and very fond of you. You're so lucky to marry him!”
