Chapter 556 Someone Cheated In The Exam

Avery had no idea that Yulissa was number seventeen. That realization made her mood turn foul.

The coincidence of being assigned to the same exam hall was already rare, and now they had the added “luck” of being seated together.

The exam was about to begin soon, so Avery ignored Yulissa.

Avery stole a quick glance at Evangeline, who was sitting diagonally across from her. As she met Evangeline's gaze, the latter flashed a smile and raised her fist in a gesture of encouragement.

Her warm smile made Avery feel a little more at ease.

Ring!

The bell rang, indicating the start of the exam. The invigilator began to distribute the answer sheets and exam sheets.

Avery wrote her name on the answer sheets and used her 2B pencil to fill in her exam ID.

Once she had filled out her personal information on both answer sheets, she carefully checked everything for accuracy.

It was only after ensuring that all her details were correct that she started reading the exam questions.

Avery began answering the questions on the exam sheet after going through all of them and getting a general understanding.

She wasn't that confident about the exam, which was on Engineering Economics. Back in university, she had a hard time learning economics. If she could excel in this exam, she would fare better in the next subject, Project Management.

With that thought in mind, Avery began focusing on answering the questions.

She had to admit that Cayden was a top student, as his prediction was spot on.

The summary he had given turned out to be quite helpful, as half of the tested content was covered. Avery couldn't help but be impressed, thinking he was more capable than just a forecaster.

Thus, even though the questions were pretty hard, Avery wasn't nervous at all and answered them with ease.

The strange grin on Yulissa's lips widened when she noticed Avery was focused on answering the questions.

Wisteria had tasked her with a mission, and she was trying to come up with a plan to set Avery up in the exam hall. However, despite pondering for a long time, she couldn't think of a viable solution.

She even came up with the most foolish plan to bribe the invigilator at Avery's hall to accuse her of cheating.

However, lady luck was on her side.

To her delight, she realized that Avery would be sitting in the same exam hall as her, and even better, they would be assigned to sit together.

Avery's life has always been smooth sailing. The heavens must want to help me teach her a lesson. Just wait and see how I'll teach her a lesson!

Avery was busy answering the questions and had no idea of Yulissa's evil intention.

The two invigilators at the exam hall took their jobs seriously, diligently pacing around to ensure that no cheating occurred.

All the candidates in the exam hall were completely focused on their tests.

Some appeared elated, while others were frowning unhappily.

Of course, Avery belonged to the former category. She wrote neatly, and her answers flowed quickly. Even the invigilators couldn't resist glancing at her, noticing the bump in her stomach.

The only sounds in the exam hall were the scratching of pens and pencils on paper.

Avery followed the rule of doing the easy questions first and coming back to the difficult questions later. She skipped the questions she wasn't confident in and scribbled the answers for those she knew. Shortly after, she had completed half the exam paper.

In contrast to her calm demeanor, Yulissa seemed to be struggling behind her.

Yulissa was retaking the exam to become a Certified Professional Constructor, having failed this subject the previous year. She knew that passing this time was crucial.

There were a total of four subjects, and one had to pass all subjects in two consecutive years in order to become a Certified Professional Constructor. Failing the subject again would mean forfeiting Yulissa's passing marks for the other three subjects, forcing her to retake all four exams. This was a result she desperately wanted to avoid.

Yulissa had no idea that the questions were even harder this year. She was struggling to answer them all.

However, Avery had been writing on her answer sheet with confidence the entire time, and Yulissa couldn't even catch her pondering over any questions. This only intensified Yulissa's envy.

Evangeline, who was number six in this hall, was in a daze.

She was taken aback to find that some of the questions in the exam were already covered in Avery's subject summary from earlier.

I can't believe Avery is capable enough to predict the exam questions accurately!

She instantly regretted not reading more of the summary Avery made.

Time ticked by, and the temperature slowly increased.

The exam hall was still silent save for the whooshing sound made by the fans on the ceiling.

Avery opened the bottle beside her to take a few sips of her drink.

Examinations like this one typically lasted around two hours. If the test went on for too long, some weaker candidates might not be able to endure it, especially pregnant women who could tire easily.
