Linda Miller was so shocked by the slap that she could only hold her burning cheek and stare at Thalassa in disbelief. During the time Thalassa had been her daughter–in–law, she had never dared to talk back to her or retaliate in any way, let alone slap her.
“You! How dare you lay a hand on me, you imbecile!” Linda raged.
