The light from outside streamed in, casting a glow around Charles, giving him an even more composed and steady presence. Noelle was mesmerized as she watched him. She might have continued staring if the office door had not been knocked on again. Charles looked up, meeting Noelle's admiring gaze and smiling slightly. He gestured toward the door.
