These days, Evelyn wasn't holding her breath for anything from Charles. Dahlia, riding high on Charles' favoritism, had the nerve to throw baseless accusations at Evelyn, which landed her in the basement, facing all kinds of torment. Evelyn wouldn't let anything slide, not Charles' betrayal and certainly not Dahlia's plotting. Even if getting back at Charles had to wait, Evelyn wasn't about to let last night's ordeal go unpaid.

"Evelyn, you wouldn't dare! Charles would never let you get away with this!" Dahlia blurted out, trying to use Charles as her shield.

"Is that so?" Evelyn smirked, unfazed. She was curious to see just how Charles could hold something over her now. "Toss her in," Evelyn ordered, her voice as cold as ice.

No sooner had she spoken than the bodyguard, showing no mercy, threw Dahlia into the basement.

Dahlia hit the ground with a thud. "Ow!" she yelped, her face twisting in pain. She shot daggers at Evelyn, standing by the door. Never did she imagine Evelyn would actually lock her up. But that was it, wasn't it?
