Chapter 80

As she drove away from the horse ranch, Maggie found herself at a loss, unsure of where to

go next.

Jessica and Johnny had their own things to do.

She thought about returning to the Miller family home, but with Isabella being absent, going back alone would only worry the old lady even more…

As she was thinking this, she passed by a wetland park and saw several couples camping with their children, as well as young people who had brought their parents out for a day of

relaxation.

Seeing their loving relationships and happy families, a trace of envy and… bitterness unconsciously appeared in Maggie’s eyes.

After driving a little further, Maggie suddenly stopped her car by the side of the road.

She picked up her phone, hesitated for a long moment, then dialed a number.

When the call was answered, she asked, “Hello, Director, how is my mother doing?”

Maggie stood in the courtyard, looking at Sally Miller sitting on a chair not far away.

Her expression was vacant, her face gaunt and withered–almost unrecognizable compared

to the beautiful, lively woman Maggie remembered from her childhood.

Although she had long gotten used to seeing her like this, her heart still couldn’t settle.

After a while, the director softly spoke, “It’s the same as before, no change.”
