Chapter 81

Chapter 81

Seeing the smile on Maggie’s face, Harry’s eyes darkened.

Maggie noticed his gaze and, unsure of what to make of it, asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing.”

Maggie didn’t press further. She walked a bit farther with Daisy while Harry stayed nearby,

watching without interfering.

After tiring of flying the kite, Maggie and Daisy sat by the lake and fished, or crouched by the side to observe the little fish swimming in the small water pools of the vendors, catching

them with a small net.

Soon, it was noon.

Harry had originally just planned to take Daisy out for a walk. Unlike other people, they didn’t bring any food, and now that it was mealtime and Daisy was hungry, Harry

suggested they eat at a small restaurant nearby.

Having relaxed for a couple of hours, Maggie was in a better mood than before and didn’t refuse his suggestion.

At lunch, Maggie mostly chatted with Daisy.

Seeing how well they got along, Harry didn’t push to join the conversation but instead

quietly moved the dishes they liked closer to them.

While Maggie was talking to Daisy, she didn’t notice.

After a while, Harry’s phone rang.

Seeing the caller ID, he turned to Maggie and said, “I’ll take this call.”

“Okay.”

Harry walked a little farther before answering. “What’s up?”

“Where are you now? Have you eaten? My friend just sent me some fresh seafood. Want to come over and have some? Frank and the others will be here too.”

Harry glanced over at Maggie and Daisy, then lightly declined, “We’ve already eaten, maybe next time.”

“Alright, then do you have any plans for tonight? There’s a cruise party tonight, Frank and the others have confirmed they’re coming.
