Chapter 1938 Connections

I don’t think Cindy and I went overboard with our display of affection in front of Mom, Ian thought. We do most of those actions when it’s just the two of us, so I don’t think Mom saw anything. She’s probably just reminding us as someone who has been through all of this, he figured.

Cindy seemed a little more awake upon hearing Ian’s words, and she turned around to wrap her arms around Ian. “Will your mom think that I don’t respect myself?” Cindy asked in a rather worried tone.

“How could that be possible?” Ian laughed and pulled her close to him. “You know how much my mom likes you. She doesn’t think too much about these matters—she’d probably just think that I’m desperate for you.”

Cindy sighed. There was nothing else she could say, so she decided to direct her complaints toward Ian. “It’s all your fault.”

He pressed his chin against her forehead. “I recall you are really passionate about these things, so why are you putting all of the blame on me?”

She gave him a soft pinch on his waist. “Nonsense,” she mumbled. She was too exhausted to fool around with him, and both of them only bickered for a while more before they both shut their eyes to sleep. At first, Cindy had assumed that she would sleep better when she returned to her hometown and slept on the bed she used to sleep on. However, she realized that she was a lot more used to sleeping on her bed in their home.

They slept through lunchtime, and Cindy only woke up because she was feeling hungry. When she opened her eyes, she found Ian fast asleep beside her. He’s probably tired. He looks like he’s having a really good sleep. Cindy didn’t want to wake him up, so she carefully slipped out of his arms before tiptoeing out of the room with her bare feet.

She headed to the bathroom outside for a quick shower before she took the warm dishes out for a meal. While she sat on the couch, she felt for her phone and checked her social media accounts. She hadn’t managed to see how her friends had reacted to her new Facebook post, so she tapped on the application to check it.

There were people who liked and commented on her post, but these were people she knew in the past. None of them asked about Ian, and they only said things like, ‘You should have told us you’re back! We should have a meal.’

Although there wasn’t much action on Cindy’s Facebook, she could tell that the news of her and Ian going to her hometown was starting to spread. It’s a shame I’m not friends with Yulia, or I’d definitely make sure she sees this post. She has a lot of connections, so I wonder if she heard about me and Ian’s trip to my home. If she pays that much attention to Ian, she probably knows that he has been away for the past few days.
