Chapter 0245

Chase POV

I don't know how long Thor and I were chatting, but I knew it was a while given the frustrated groan that left Lotties lips.

"Men. Can't focus on more than one thing." She snapped, her temper flaring. She was just like her mother, I wondered if she knew that. Should I tell her?

"Not now numb nuts." Thor barked, making me wince. Yeah, probably right.

"Sorry." I apologised as I focused back on Lottie, "Dammit." I groaned and frowned, seeing her hand on the key to start the damn car.

"UGH." I heard Lottie grunt, no doubt at the fact I had zoned out for so long. "Lottie, wait," I expressed, trying to convince her one last time while I stalled for time, hoping Adam would come to help my ass out. "I'll call Kane again, I promise. Just get out of the car." Pulling my phone out of my pocket, I attempted to show her that I had already called Kane. Twice, once while on the phone with Knox and the other on my way down to save my baby.

She glared at me, her stubbornness matching my own. Before I could say anything else, Adam appeared out of the packhouse side door, a bag slung over his shoulder. I frowned as he strolled over to the car because that bag meant nothing good for Knox. "It's Nice of you to join us," I yapped, my eyes meeting his stern dark hues for a moment.

"Eat my ass." He growled back; he smelt of fags and something citrusy that I couldn't place.

"No thanks, unlike you I don't do the sibling shit."

"What?" he asked, staring at me as he slid into the passenger seat. His expression was stern as he looked at Lottie.

"You may not love me like you do, Chase; hell, you may not even like me. But if you promise to get out of this car, I promise I will save your stupid drunken ex and deliver him to his mate or father if they want him back. Let's be honest. He is a cunt. But regardless, I will deliver him home safely. However, if you don't get out of the car, I will still save him, but then deliver his stupid ass to the river with a ton of bricks wrapped around his thick neck." Adam announced.

"Adam," I laughed nervously because, honestly, given the bag he had flung on the back seat, I knew he meant it. "Not helpful."
