Chapter 171 Mr. Alvarez Might Have Overdrunk

Josephine halted. Frantically avoiding Mrs. Jinkins’ gaze, she bit her lips and shook her head.

Mrs. Jinkins had seen enough to see right through her reaction.

She took Josephine’s hand and heartfeltly said, “Josie, don’t lie to me. I won’t be at peace with myself if you’re miserable because of me.”

Josephine abruptly looked at her and waved urgently. She signed, “It’s nothing, Mrs. Jinkins. I’m fine. Don’t worry about me.”

Mrs. Jinkins looked at her thoughtfully. She couldn’t help but reach out with her withered hand and caress Josephine’s face.
