Chapter 175 Take Them Off

Josephine could only fit in a few pieces of clothing and couldn’t squeeze in her remaining wardrobe. She was contemplating ways to take her outfits with her when someone suddenly kicked her suitcase, and it slid a good distance away.

Josephine was surprised. She looked up to see Lewis glowering at her. The former pressed her lips together and meekly rose to her feet, signing, “What are you doing?”

Lewis’ eyes were ablaze, his soulful eyes trying to bore holes in her. “What’s this? Can’t wait to leave, huh?”

Josephine signed, “But you agreed to get the divorce, didn’t you?”

She simply thought she should take the initiative and not induce his hatred by sticking around anymore since Lewis proposed to get a divorce.

Lewis smiled menacingly. “Then why are you bringing these along? Leave them be!”

Josephine shuddered. She looked at him in disbelief.

Lewis grabbed her chin and said moodily, “If you want to get the divorce, you should be prepared to leave this house empty-handed. So, leave my belongings behind you when you leave.”

Josephine was silent.

Lewis continued, “Including the ones you’re wearing. Take them off.”

Josephine’s eyes widened as a thought crossed her mind. Was he going to strip her of the clothes she was wearing too?

She noticed the fury in Lewis’ eyes, and her heart ached. They had been married for three whole years, yet he was unwilling to let her have a single shirt. He wanted her to leave the house naked.

“What a cold-blooded man,” she thought to herself.

Overwhelmed with sorrow, Josephine felt a lump in her throat, and her eyes became misty.

She was worth less than a dog to him, even though they had been married for three years.

Lewis’ eyelids twitched. “Why are you crying? I thought you had everything thought out by how

eager you were to get a divorce.”

Josephine lowered her gaze, tears streaming out of the corner of her

eyes.

Lewis released his grip on her chin and left the room. He was at the doorway when he repeated, “If you want to go, leave those things behind.” Then, he was gone.

Josephine stood in the middle of the room, staring blankly at the empty doorway. She was at the end of her ropes.
