Chapter 185 Am I Dying

Josephine was trapped in the mansion for two days, during which Lewis was nowhere to be

seen.

The rain continued for two days, and it didn’t seem like it was ending anytime soon.

When Lewis returned at night on the weekend, Josephine was still curled up in her original

position.

His eyes flickered as he strode toward Josephine and helped her up. “Josephine?”

Josephine lay in his arms, barely breathing. Her eyelids fluttered but remained shut.

Lewis had a sudden realization and immediately phoned Dr. Halliday.

Dr. Halliday braved the rain to come here. Because of the pouring rain, the ends of his trousers were dripping wet. “Mr. Alvarez, what happened to the madam?”

“Take a look at her!”

Startled by his tone, Dr. Halliday quickly put down his bag and did a checkup.

He spotted her bandaged fingers out the corners of his eyes and blurted out a question, “Her

hand…

Lewis said nothing, but his domineering gaze fell on the doctor’s face. Dr. Halliday lost the courage to look up and silently continued the checkup.

After several moments, Dr. Halliday wiped the sweat on his brows and said, “Madam has fainted from starvation, Mr. Alvarez. She should be alright after some liquid food intake.”

That was all he managed. He dared not say a word more. He was worried Lewis would throw

a fit and take him out.

Lewis’ veins bulged. “Silly woman!”

She hadn’t taken any food for as long as he was out.

Then, he cast another glance at Dr. Halliday. “Can you cook?”

Dr. Halliday paused and immediately nodded, “I … I can. Shall I make some food?”

“Make haste!”
