breathing uneven and his eyes half–closed. Her gaze was full of longing and determination.

“Arthur,” Sarah whispered softly, “let me take care of you. Charlotte doesn’t love you. She’s desperate for a divorce–that’s why she sent me here.”

The faint scent of her perfume wafted toward Arthur, mingling with the drug–induced haze clouding his senses.

Arthur gritted his teeth and forced his eyes shut, trying to push through the fog in his head. “Get away.” With a sudden burst of strength, he shoved Sarah aside, his voice sharp with disgust.

Her words lingered in his mind, echoing like a taunt. Arthur thought, “Charlotte sent her here. She knew I’d been drugged, and this is her response? Throwing another woman at me? Is she so desperate to push me away?”

A cold fury churned in his chest, sharp and unrelenting, spreading through every corner of his body. His face hardened, his usual elegance replaced by a dark, dangerous edge.

“Arthur…” Sarah stumbled back but quickly regained her footing. She wasn’t about to let this chance slip away.
