Chapter 224

Sensing her troubled thoughts, Scott took out a bank card.

"Mommy, don't worry. We can pay for it."

The money in the card was Scott and Stellan's earnings over these few months of designing anti-malware software for a few companies.

Although they were not yet ranked on the list of top hackers, they left their contact details on the dark web because they were interested in the field. Since their quoted prices were not overpriced, there were many small companies that sought them for programming services. As a result, the siblings had earned a lot from doing that.

Patricia reached out and stroked his face. "Did you guys invest in the stock market with Zachary again? I told you guys not to get involved in that. Don't worry about the money, I'll sort it out."

However, Scott shook his head. "Mommy, you told us not to get involved, so we won't dabble in that again. This is what we earned from programming; it's legal."

Patricia knew that the boys loved programming and had been taking lessons recently, but she did not expect that they would be able to earn money from that.

She smiled. "Is that so? I've misunderstood you guys. Thanks, boys. I'll definitely work hard to earn more money so you guys won't have to worry about money."

They walked over to ask for the bill from the nurse. Subsequently, they headed to the payment counter on the first floor and paid the bill.

It was indeed expensive for merely one night's stay and some basic treatment. The total bill came up to nearly twenty thousand.

Glancing at the bill, Patricia was relieved that Sylvie was fine despite wincing from the hefty cost.

Scott stuffed the bank card into her hand. "Mommy, from now on, you can keep this card with you. If you wish to buy property, you can start taking a look too."

Scott and Stellan both knew that she was intent on purchasing her own property so that they would have somewhere to call home and would not have to worry about all the constant moving.

Patricia's eyes instantly lit up. "How much is there in the account?"

A property would cost a significant amount.

Yet, Scott responded calmly, "It's slightly more than two million. It should be enough for a small one."

As soon as Patricia heard that, her eyes widened.

"That's such a large sum there!" The two boys are so capable! They've actually earned so much!

She hugged him. "We're about to have a place to call home!"

As soon as Scott saw the happy look on Patricia's face, he also revealed a faint smile.

At that moment, Patricia looked like an elated child while Scott seemed like a composed adult.

"Mommy, although Isaac helped you out last night, you've got to be able to differentiate things. This should not affect your relationship at all. You don't need to feel indebted to him and feel obliged to agree to be his girlfriend or provide any compensation to him. Stellan and I will express our gratitude, so let us deal with that."

After all, he was someone who was about to get engaged last night and this man had called off his engagement without much hesitation. Evidently, he was not a responsible person at all.

Scott and Stellan no longer trusted Isaac, so naturally, they did not wish for Patricia to be linked with him. It was enough for their relationship to be one of a boss and subordinate. That was it.
