Summary of Your Love Is But a Dream
Clara Salford decides to study abroad, as suggested by her aunt Katrina Caldwell, after realizing that she must move on from Wren Zachman, the man she has loved since childhood. Wren, Katrina’s stepson, took Clara in after she was abandoned by her family following her parents’ tragic deaths. He raised and protected her, leading Clara to develop deep feelings for him.
On her 18th birthday, Clara confesses her love for Wren, but he rejects her harshly, insisting that they are siblings. Despite his coldness, Clara continues to hold onto hope. However, when she overhears Wren expressing annoyance about her presence and later publicly announcing his engagement to Ivy Jones, Clara is devastated.
Heartbroken, Clara decides to let go of her unrequited love. She removes and burns all the photos of her and Wren, symbolizing the end of her feelings for him. With nothing left to hold onto, she finally agrees to leave for a new life abroad.
