“When I was abroad, I didn’t understand the specific details and accidentally made a deal with the Newton family. I was hunted by my brother for a long time because of it. Do you remember?” Ava remembered it clearly as she befriended Enrico because of it. However, it had been four years. Enrico said, “Actually, this matter isn’t over yet as he didn’t manage to find me at that time. But now that the Newton family had gone bankrupt, if my brother got a hold of the deal that I had with them, I could be imprisoned.”
“Is it that serious?”
Ava didn’t know much about business, but she knew economic crimes could face severe penalties. It would be a big problem if Damien got a hold of Enrico’s deal. “Ava, I’ve thought of various methods, but none of them worked. You’re most likely the last person that he would not be on guard against. You’ll help me due to our relationship over the years, right?” Enrico asked for her help and held her hand sincerely. She hesitated and finally said, “Fine, but there is a password on the safe. I’m not sure if I can do it.” “That’s great! Ava, you’re saving my life!” Enrico was overjoyed, and he hugged her tightly. She was startled, and she quickly pushed him away, “Enrico, let go of me! Hey!” He just realized that he had lost his composure and let go of his hands apologetically. Fortunately, there was no one else in the corridor, otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to explain herself.
Ava got off work a few minutes late as she had a form to fill.

When she was about to pack her things, there were barely any of her colleagues in the office. Enrico leaned against the door and shook his car keys, “Let’s go, I’ll drive you!” “I don’t think that’s a good idea. If my colleagues saw us…” “There are none of your colleagues in the office, everyone has left. I know that you don’t like to stand out, I’ve waited here for you specially.” Enrico smiled and pulled her over, so she had no choice but to follow him. When they walked to the entrance of the company, there was a car parked right in the middle. It was Damien’s car. He happened to be waiting for her too. His expression changed as soon as he saw Enrico and Ava laughing and chatting with each other when they were walking out. “Ava, I’ll drive you home,” Damien purposely ignored Enrico and pulled Ava to his side. “Bro, Ava has agreed for me to send her back,” Enrico said. “You’d better know who Ava is,” Damien said in a cold voice.
“Of course I know, she is my subordinate. As a superior, I have always been caring towards my subordinates and I shall send her back.” Enrico wanted to pull Ava’s arm, but Damien wouldn’t allow him to touch her. He immediately grabbed Ava’s other hand, As Enrico failed to grab her arm, he smiled, “Bro, you shouldn’t behave like this. Ava is a human, not a robot, you should let her make her own choice.” “Alright, you choose it.” Damien gave her the opportunity to choose, but they caused her to be in a dilemmà. She just wanted to go home and it wasn’t even far, why were they making things difficult? “I’m going home by subway then,” she said instantly. There was a subway near the entrance of the company. Ava ran hurriedly and Enrico was about to follow her subconsciously. Damien signaled his driver and he immediately got out of the car to stop Enrico.
“Yo, why are you stopping me? She wants to take the subway by herself. Don’t tell me you’re going to drive the subway train to send her!”
Damien ignored Enrico’s nonsense, and he followed Ava as he saw that she was entering the subway station. “Uh, why are you following me?” Ava felt uncomfortable when she found Damien was after her. “As I’ve said, I’ll take you home.”
Damien held her arm to help her avoid the crowd that was rushing into the subway station.
When they were in front of the inbound gate, Ava quickly swiped her card and entered while Damien was being stopped outside.
He obviously didn’t have a subway card, and he didn’t have any cash with him. Ava smiled in secret. The president probably had never experienced public transports in his life, how could he know how to buy a ticket? He could have just scanned the QR code with his phone, but he clearly didn’t know about it. Ava was happy that he couldn’t come after her anymore, thus she swaggered in. There were many passengers in the subway station at peak hours, so it was difficult for her to squeeze into the subway train. It was so crowded that she couldn’t even stand properly. Ava felt breathless as she was rocking from side to side in the crowd. She could barely find a place to stand in peace.
Just as the subway door was closing, a man squeezed in the last minute. It was already crowded, and the man who rushed in made it even more suffocating. All of a sudden, Ava’s body was being held by a pair of arms and she nearly buried her head in the man’s chest.
