“What do you mean?” “I’ll send you back and forth to and from work if I’m free, no matter what kind of transportation you use.” Ava couldn’t figure out what was he up to, and it was better for her if she kept silent and she tried her best not to get too close to him. After squeezing for about half an hour, they finally arrived at the station that she wanted to get off. Both of them were drenched in sweat when they got off the subway. Damien felt embarrassed for the first time in his life, but he was still in a good mood as he was smiling while following Ava all the way. However, she was quite agitated and she walked out quickly. Only a few steps from the subway station, she had arrived at the entrance of the residential area that she lived. She walked faster as she thought that he would catch up with her. Surprisingly, he watched her as she walked into the residential area and left after waving to her.

Ava stopped and looked at his back as he walked back slowly. Her emotions were complex at this point. After returning home, she immediately asked her mother, “Mom, what kind of person is Damien?” “Why are you asking about him?” “Well, I want to know the real person of Damien that you guys keep mentioning.” Jessica was enticed, and she started to tell her about a few matters in a breath. Of course, she wouldn’t say good things about Damien When they got married, he looked down on Jessica, who was once Keenan’s mistress. He even refused to toast a cup with her as respect. Since then, Damien had always borne the incident in his mind. As he blamed Jessica for Ava’s death, no matter how badly the creditors urged Jessica, he would turn a blind eye even though she was Ava’s mother.

Ava was lying on the sofa as her thoughts were drifting away slowly. Ever since she returned home from abroad, everyone was different with the things they’d say and the way they acted. Who should she trust? She pounded her head, why couldn’t she remember anything? What was real and what wasn’t? “Mommy, do you hate daddy a lot?” That night when she was about to sleep, Jean put his hand on her arm and asked her when she was still awake. She caressed her son’s head and urged him to sleep. Jean didn’t want to sleep, and he whispered in his mommy’s ear, “I think grandma must have said bad things about daddy to you because daddy didn’t give her money.” “Hmm,” Ava didn’t answer nor deny. Her mother’s dislike towards Damien was beyond words, and she knew that her mother must have exaggerated in the stories that she told her that evening.
But Jessica was her biological mother after all, why would she say bad things about Damien if he was a reliable husband?

Based on the pricing of this small residential area, a luxurious car like this was a rare occurrence. She instinctively dragged Jean and turned around but it was too late. Damien lowered his car window and said to her, “Get in the car.” “Why are you here? You’re not welcomed!” “Get in the car, I’ll drive you to work.”
Yesterday, he took the subway with her. His back was aching since he returned home until midnight. How could he bear to let her go to work by squeezing in the subway?
What was more, it was crowded in the subway, so it was inevitable to meet someone with ill intentions. He was irritated just from the thoughts of this.
