Gabriel lowered his gaze and pulled her to the side. "Stop this, Evelyn." He maintained his stern tone.

Seeing that her brother was standing up for Nicole consistently, Evelyn could not take it anymore. She glared at Nicole before directing her gaze at him and exploded. "Gabriel, what do you guys see in her? Why are you all standing up for her? Mother wants to adopt her! Why aren't you saying anything about that?"

Regarding that subject, Jackson had mentioned it to him, so he knew a long time ago. Out of fear that Evelyn would react negatively to this, Gabriel chose to keep it in the dark.

As predicted, she became highly agitated after hearing about it.

"Evelyn, this is our family matter. Whatever you have to say about it, leave it after the party," he stated.

Nonetheless, she was nowhere near willing to concede. "No! You will make it clear today why our parents would want to adopt this low-class b*tch!" she shouted.


As he took in her insulting words, he frowned and lowered his voice to warn her again, "Evelyn, Mr. Yates is here now. Both he and Miss Anderson are honored guests invited by Mother, so don't get out of line."

Since Evelyn was blinded with rage, she did not care whether others were present and shouted, "Are you telling me that this sl*t is her daughter and I'm not?"

Although she merely spoke this out of anger, it still silenced everybody who heard her.

Not having mercy anymore, Gabriel reached out and tugged his sister's wrist, emphasizing with a dominating tone, "Go back, Evelyn."

As an extremely stubborn one, she was angered to the point where her neck and eyes were flushing red. Following that, she poked Nicole's nose and shrieked, "Gabriel! What are you trying to do?"

Without saying anything more, he pursed his lips and dragged his sister away. Before he left, he did not forget to apologize to Nicole. "Miss Anderson, I'm truly sorry for this. My sister has a fiery temper. You can be seated on the first floor with Mr. Yates for now. There'll be servants to tend to you." Then, he did not give Evelyn any more chances to speak as he dragged her away.

It was only when they were out of Nicole and Zachary's field of vision that he finally let loose of her.

At this point, Evelyn's eyes were gleaming, along with tear marks under her eyes. Biting her lips, she had a puffed-up face.

Gabriel saw how wronged she felt and sighed faintly. He reached out and wanted to touch her cheek, but she turned her body and dodged his touch; she was undeniably furious.
