Right Person, Wrong Time

Chapter 825

Nicole knew precisely the person Rita meant. When she saw Siobhan, she had the same feeling as well. Smiling subtly, she replied, "Yes, so I've been told."

With a friendly face, Rita held Nicole's hands and expressed, "I've never seen someone look so much like her. Maybe it's because of my age that my eyes are starting to play tricks on me. I'm sorry, little lady."

Shaking her head, Nicole stated, "Oh no, no. Maybe it's because I wore something similar to the madam that caused you to misrecognize me from afar."

The more Rita looked at Nicole, the more she adored her. As such, she sat beside her and started a proper conversation. "Where are you from, little lady?"

Nicole answered sincerely, "I'm from Goldwick."

Nodding, Rita suddenly recalled something and asked, "I heard from Gabriel that the woman who saved Siobhan looked very much like her. Could it be you?"

Nicole looked at her expectant gaze and replied shyly, "It's me."

As soon as she nodded in response, Rita became even more elated as she observed her from head to toe and said happily, "You do look like a Good Samaritan. I've heard from Gabriel that it was a dangerous situation. If not for your volunteer, her life would've been in danger."

Embarrassed about the compliment, Nicole waved and replied, "That was only a coincidence that our blood type matched up. I believe in helping people when they are in need." She had a humble approach and did not come across as hypocritical.

That made Rita adore her even more, for one could practically hear the joy in her voice. "Indeed, Siobhan has a unique blood type. When she was young, I was worried that she might get into some sort of accident. When she grew up and went abroad, it was no use worrying about that. I wouldn't even have known about this incident if she didn't return. Sigh."

Seeing how troubled she was, Nicole quickly comforted her. "Old Mrs. Gould, you don't have to worry since Madam Gould is fine now."

The old lady heaved a sigh and stated solemnly, "It's inevitable for me to worry about her, but after knowing that she's fine now, I can finally relax."

Subsequently, they started to chat for a while.

Although Rita was getting on in age, she was highly talkative, as if she had never met someone who could carry a conversation as Nicole did. As for the latter, she naturally knew how to chat with others and make them feel comfortable after being in society for so many years.

At first, Rita was merely expressing her gratitude when she started to talk about Siobhan's childhood, seemingly out of reminiscence. Nicole listened intently, looking like she was interested in Siobhan's past.
