Chapter 897

As Siobhan's legs were not healed yet, she could only sit in the chair. After some thought, she said, "After you return to the Wrenn Family, you can do whatever you want. Whether it's the Gould Family or the Wrenn Family, you can make your choice."

Nicole froze for a moment, not expecting Siobhan to be so magnanimous. After coming back to her senses, she refused, "Madam Gould, you don't have to be so polite."

"I'm not being polite. I've seen your capabilities, and I think you're perfect to be a leader," Siobhan explained.

Nicole pursed her lips, not knowing what to say next.

Upon seeing Nicole's hesitation to speak, Siobhan let out a chuckle and said, "All right, take your time to digest all this information. I'll ask Gabriel to pick you up tomorrow, and we'll resume our chat then."

Nicole hummed in reply.

As if suddenly recalling something, Siobhan suddenly questioned, "By the way, I heard that you're living with that kid from the Yates Family. Are you two…"

Nicole knew that Siobhan was talking about Zachary, and she shook her head, declining, "No, we're just ordinary friends."

With a smile in her eyes, Siobhan continued, "You're my daughter, so you're worthy of him."

Nicole was somewhat tongue-tied. It wasn't a question as to whether she was worthy of him or not; Zachary had feelings for her and didn't need her power, but she felt nothing for him. She knew exactly what kind of feelings she had toward him, so she didn't dare to agree easily as she was afraid that she wouldn't be able to bear his love.

"That's not…" Nicole hesitated, unsure of how to explain the relationship between her and Zachary.

Sensing something, Siobhan frowned slightly and asked, "Do you still like Colton?"

Nicole was a little overwhelmed by the question. Surprisingly, she did not decline immediately but pondered instead. Do I still like Colton?

When the idea emerged in her mind for a moment, she did not reject it at the first second, but thought about it carefully. Do I still like him? I don't really know either.

When Nicole did not answer, Siobhan did not press her any further. Instead, she waved her hand and said softly, "It's fine. I have no business interfering in your relationship affairs, anyway. This is between the three of you, so you should handle it yourselves."

Nicole inwardly let out a sigh of relief, thankful that Siobhan did not attempt to get to the bottom of things.

Siobhan looked at her, her lips slightly twitching before she said, "You can call me Mom from now on."

However, Nicole remained silent and did not reply.

Siobhan tittered and didn't persist, shaking her head with a laugh as she said, "I'm just saying. We've only just reunited, so it's perfectly normal for you not to see me as your mother yet."
