Chapter 953 I’m Not Worried at All


"I'm not afraid of them. I'll make them pay for hurting my son."

A shadow fell across Colton's face as the words left him, his voice lacking warmth. One could easily sense the determination in his tone.

After knowing Colton for years, Beryl could tell the man had truly gotten mad this time.

"I get it. I'll ask my men to watch the footage with extra attention," Beryl replied before gathering his men and leaving to look into the camera footage.

Evelyn looked down at the group of men from upstairs. However, the sight didn't frighten her. Even if they find something, I'm safe. I'm not involved in this matter in the first place.

Back when Sasha asked Evelyn to be the one who made a move, the latter disagreed. She can't fool me. I won't let her use me as a pawn.

If anything happened to Hayden in the Gould Residence, Evelyn knew she would be the first suspect that came to people's minds. She found an excuse and went to the island to avoid getting caught. Thus, she had avoided rousing suspicion.

The moment Beryl's investigation began, Nicole received a call from the hospital, informing her that Hayden was awake.

Nicole and Colton immediately headed to the hospital after getting the message.

The pair stood outside the room and looked inside through the huge window. Hayden was already awake and leaning against the head of the bed. However, his face was pale, indicating that his condition wasn't ideal.


Nicole could feel her throat tighten at the sight of Hayden's condition. Tears blurred her vision in an instant.

Siobhan stopped Nicole from entering the room when she noticed Nicole's attempt at the door.

"Nicole, the doctor hasn't found a cure for the poison in Hayden's body. Even though it isn't serious, it's contagious. It can be quite an unpleasant feeling to those who are infected."

Nicole couldn't meet Siobhan's eyes. It was painful to see her son suffer, and she no longer wanted to be separated from him. She said through sobs, "Madam Gould, Hayden grew up before my eyes. He's my son. I don't care if the disease is infectious. I just want to make sure he's okay."

The determined look on her face moved Siobhan. After all, the older woman was a mother too. She felt the same way Nicole was feeling at the moment.

Colton stood next to Nicole the whole time. This time, he didn't do anything to stop Nicole. Instead, he grabbed her hand and whispered, "Let's go inside. Hayden just woke up. I'm sure he needs his parents by his side."

Nicole was taken aback by the words. She didn't expect Colton to agree with her. However, she didn't ask for further explanation. Instead, she turned to watch Siobhan.

Siobhan couldn't help but sigh at the look on Nicole's face. "Fine. You're Hayden's mother. There's nothing that can stop you from worrying about him, not even my words."
