When the other colleagues heard the comment, all of them looked in Yvonne's direction.

If she did manage to influence Cayden, it would be an achievement to be proud of.

Between one of the couples, the man remarked softly to his partner, “Mr. Moore has always been serious and aloof. Don't you think it's a little unbelievable for Yvonne to have persuaded him to attend today's team-building event?”

The lady rolled her eyes. “Do you know what it means?”

“What?” The man laughed, as he was truly clueless.

The lady snorted with disdain. “It means that all men are idiots. Regardless of how successful a man is, he will still fall prey to a vixen, willing to do her bidding after being pleasured in bed for the night.”

“F*ck.” The man scowled. “We're talking about something serious. What are you attacking me for?”

“What am I attacking you for? If even a dictatorial boss acts that way, what hope is there for a broke b*stard who picks up girls on his phone whenever he's free?” Just as the lady spoke, she hammered her tightly clenched fist on her boyfriend.

Nearby, Avery, suffering from a cramp, was leaning against a large stone sign. Looking to the ground, she gritted her teeth while enduring the pain in her leg.

A cramp was by itself an exasperating experience. But now, it was made worse by the couple's conversation that had escalated into a noisy argument.

Oblivious to the reason why she was angry, the man gave his girlfriend a tug. “Quick, find out what's going on. If Yvonne really has the boss' ear, you'd better ingratiate yourself with her. A fool like her is usually a sucker for flattery.”

The lady turned around and snapped, “You idiot!”

Avery overheard the entire exchange. As the couple didn't think much of her, they weren't bothered by her presence.

On top of that, every employee was thinking of the same thing—brown-nosing Yvonne. Therefore, it wasn't a big deal to say it out loud.

When Avery heard the lady swear at her boyfriend, she, for some inexplicable reason, relished in schadenfreude.

Meanwhile, Yvonne was blushing intensely as she watched Cayden speaking to the employees of a department next to them. With a throbbing heart, she said to her colleague in an egotistical tone, “I only suggested it to him before we slept. I... didn't expect him to really show up.”

The embarrassment on her face combined with her sheepish tone demonstrated one fact—Cayden was there because of her suggestion in bed.

Avery lowered her head.

“Mr. Moore is really charming!” someone cried out.

The female colleagues who heard Yvonne's claims began to crowd around her, letting out envious and jealous gasps of various degrees.

Nina, who had also heard the rambunctious words, couldn't help but give Avery an agitated glance.

What's going on? How did Mr. Moore suddenly end up sleeping with Yvonne? A-And is listening to whatever she says? Blech!

Amidst the chaos, Nina felt that it was inappropriate to clarify the matter with Avery.

At this moment, thunderous applause rang out from the department next to them. Cayden then walked over to the design department with an imposing stride.

Behind him were two fearsome-looking bodyguards in suits who were in charge of his security.

As for Xavier, he was walking alongside Cayden while reporting something with furrowed brows.

“Mr. Moore is here. Make sure you look presentable,” Yulissa reminded them.

This is really unbecoming of them! They look like they're about to throw themselves at him. We're the design department, not his diehard fans.

After getting in line, everyone lowered their heads to tidy up themselves. Since they had just finished swimming, they didn't manage to change out of their swimsuits in time.

Therefore, they hurried to cover themselves with whatever they could find, regardless of whether it was a towel or a top.

Avery, too, had gone for a swim, as it was one of her favorite sports for relieving stress. However, it was the first time she had swum in an outdoor swimming pool in Ackleton that season.

She stood where she was with her hair still dripping wet, her cramps continuing to bother her. Bitten by a chill from the water, she was in so much pain that she was in no mood to care about anything else.

The only thing she could manage was to wrap the towel the company had provided around herself.

As the towel wasn't big, it only shielded her from the neck to the top of her thighs. Therefore, she had to squat down for it to cover her entire body so as to retain body heat.

When she finally felt the warmth in her legs, she hoped that the frequency of the cramps would reduce.

Squatting behind the crowd, Avery finally looked up when she heard Cayden's magnetic voice ring out from more than ten meters away.

All she saw were many pairs of long slender legs, for everyone, as if there was a tacit understanding, had only covered the upper half of their body.

Avery's imagination began to run wild. When she considered the possibility that Yvonne was telling the truth, she felt a sting in her heart alongside the cramp in her leg.

Her emotions spiraled into a maelstrom of misery.

As no one in the department dared to say a word, the entire outdoor venue fell into pin-drop silence. Cayden's proud and sexy voice was the only thing that reverberated in everyone's ears.
