The CEO Gets What He Wants

Nicole wore a thick beanie and had a huge scarf wrapped around her neck as she headed out. In addition, she also wore a mask and covered half of her face with a pair of sunglasses. No one could picture this woman tightly wrapped in a bloated outfit would turn out to be the beautiful woman with a sweet smile and slim figure who they had seen on TV.

After arriving at a reserved private room, Nicole immediately headed inside. A man in his thirties with high cheekbones was seen waiting for her.

The man was bearded and looked burly. Looking at him, one would be reminded of the typical gang leaders demonstrated in movies.

Although the man looked fierce, his eyes shone with a glint, indicating that he was not an ordinary man.

Nicole took a seat and hurriedly asked, “How is the investigation result? Is there any development?”

Only the heavens knew how anxious she had been in the past few days. She was constantly worried that her adoptive mother's biological daughter would show up out of the blue and replace her as the daughter of the Lambert family, which she had fought long to earn that title.

The bearded man pushed a stack of documents to her and explained, “We have updates. The hospital your adoptive mother was admitted to and the names of the doctor and nurses who delivered her baby back then are listed here. I also added detailed reports on their current situations. You should know that your adoptive mother's biological daughter is still alive.”

His last sentence was like a bolt of lightning striking Nicole out of the blue and splitting her into halves.

Holding the documents, her hands could not help trembling. “W-What did you say? My adoptive mother's biological daughter is still alive? Where is she? Where is she now?”

Nicole's eyes were filled with shock and bloodshot. The terrifying look in her eyes made the bearded man shudder a little.

Noticing that she scared the bearded man, Nicole suppressed her anger and said in a sweet tone, “My adoptive parents have always been missing my sister. If they find out that she's still alive, my adoptive mother will be so happy. So please, I hope you can inform me right after you find my sister. She must have suffered a lot on her own all these years. Once we find her, my family and I can finally make it up to her.”

The bearded man seemed touched by her words, but he did not say anything else.

However, his sincere eyes flickered a little as he said cunningly, “Ms. Nicole, do you know how difficult it is for us to investigate something that happened more than twenty years ago? My detective agency has spent numerous man-hours and a lot of money to get all the information in your hands. We don't have a firm answer about your sister's location yet. But then, Ms. Nicole, that doesn't mean we can't help you find her. It's just that the money...”

Then, the bearded man rubbed his right thumb and index finger, gesturing for the implication behind his words.

Nicole immediately understood his words. “Don't worry. If you can find my adoptive mother's biological daughter, I will pay you handsomely.”

Everyone knew that money came fast in the entertainment industry, especially for top celebrities. They could endorse a product and earn enough money for ordinary citizens to spend the rest of their lives.

Although Nicole was not considered a top celebrity in the entertainment industry, she still had a strong background that enabled her to seize many opportunities and endorsements. Naturally, she earned a lot of money too.

Nicole took out her phone and transferred a huge amount of money into the bearded man's PayPal account.

The bearded man grinned widely. “Ms. Nicole, that's generous of you. I'm sure your sister will be happy to know you care about her this much.”

Nicole smiled at that and did not say anything.

Why will Claire's biological daughter suddenly show up after disappearing for so many years? I can never let her meet William and Claire! She can dream of replacing me as the Lambert family's daughter!

Avery sat on the couch with Zachary and Rory as they looked at the pictures they had taken at the amusement park, reminiscing their time there.

The kids were even more excited than Avery, busy picking out each other's embarrassing and ugly pictures.

Rory pointed at a picture and said to Avery, “Mommy, look at this. Zach looks so ugly here. He was not smiling even when there were so many little girls around him. Don't you agree that he looks ugly here?”

Avery looked at that picture and could not stifle a burst of laughter.

Her son was surrounded by a bunch of little girls in the picture, and the girls were pulling his shirt, even trying to take his hand. However, Zachary looked disgusted by them and was about to shove them away when the camera snapped that scene.

The camera accurately snapped his poker face and annoyed expression.

Avery could not help but get worried about her son's future. Since he managed to win over so many little girls at such a young age, she wondered if her son would break more hearts when he grew up.

At the thought of her son being surrounded and chased after by a bunch of women when he grew up, Avery shuddered a little. She hoped Zachary would not grow up to become a playboy like his uncle.

She realized that it was indeed a huge concern for a mother when her son was too handsome.
