“That's enough! Quit embarrassing yourself!”

Cayden had no choice but to carry his mother to the car. After locking the doors and windows, he sped away.

Avery's body was still trembling after Allie had been dragged away.

She balled her fists as her skin grew cold.

Avery could see Allie hitting the car window and attempting to get out the car through the window. To prevent her from being with Cayden, Allie could even display such a spectacle and abandon the elegant façade she had been putting on for years.

Avery simply could not wrap her head around Allie's behavior.

If she doesn't acknowledge my relationship with Cayden, I'll never be able to be at peace with myself.

Avery remained silent for a long time.

Even though the heater was on, she could not feel any warmth.

Now, she was not debating if she should divorce Dylan but was worried that even if she divorced him, there would be countless obstacles in her way to being with Cayden.

Letting out a sigh, she rubbed her temples and forced herself to stop overthinking.

She sat in front of the computer and began to work seriously, distracting herself from her many personal problems with work.

She was filled with inspiration all of a sudden and had countless fresh ideas.

The renowned architects in the company came up with good designs, but their designs have been rejected by Old Mr. Lambert. Is it because the designs are merely rough and dry sketches?

Will it be better if I make the design look more delicate and beautiful?

Avery pondered over it seriously.

Old Mr. Lambert has son who holds a high position in society. He himself had also been a part of the upper echelons of society before he retired a few years ago.

Someone as distinguished as him had been used to having people at his beck and call. Naturally, after his retirement, there would be lesser people who would support him, which would definitely make him feel a sense of loss. This probably has a part to play in his peculiar temperament.

Traditional architecture suits old people like him so that they could retire healthily and peacefully.

They could plant many plants and flowers in the courtyard and have a few pets. That would be very good.

Life in the city is exciting but stifling. If I can create a paradise, I believe no one will reject the idea of living there.

With that thought, Avery abandoned her earlier half-finished design and started to create a new design.

She drew with great ease, and soon, it was already late into the night.

Avery only realized with shock that it was nearly one in the morning when Cayden came back and hugged her from behind, his chin resting on her shoulder.

He was stunned when he saw Avery's sketch.

He knew that although Avery had a gentle personality, her design did not make seem that way.

As expected, she did not disappoint him, for her sketch made his eyes lit up.

It looked like a park, and on top of the gracefulness of a traditional house, Avery's design had modern and fashionable elements to it.

The courtyard was spectacular and mesmerizing, filled with lush green trees. Green grass carpeted the ground, and there were artificial mountains and waterfalls as well. What was the most eye-catching was rows of cherry blossom trees surrounding the courtyard.

The shades of pink, green, and natural colors were so beautiful that Cayden almost forgot to breathe.

The addition of a plot of fertile land with vegetables and crops growing on it made the place looked all the more otherworldly.

Not only that, there were a few chicks running about happily and finding food. And in the pond nearby were a few elegant white swans.

Cayden sat next to Avery and carried her so that she was sitting on his lap.

He kissed her cheek and did not bother to conceal the admiration in his eyes.

However, Cayden also did not pull any punches as he pointed out certain shortcomings in her design. “Not bad. The sketch is beautiful, but there are rooms for improvement. Look. You only thought of creating a paradise but ignored the overall cost. You have to take into consideration Old Mr. Lambert's budget for the house. Also, your design is far too conservative. There are not enough technological elements, and this will create problems for Old Mr. and Mrs. Lambert...”

Avery listened attentively.

Cayden's comments were concise and straight to the point.

Although he was the CEO of Trident Group, he was also a renowned architect.
